Chrysanthemum flowers are a commodity with a chance to be developed. The colour of chrysanthemum flowers determines its economic value, thus becoming a major factor in choosing which types of flowers to be cultivated. This is a survey research. This research was carried out on market actors in Special Region of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) and Central Java to obtain the preference of chrysanthemum flowers market in supporting Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) as the centre of chrysanthemum seeds and cut flowers. Market survey is also used to know the types of chrysanthemum flowers that consumers need. Research results showed that the largest consumer of cut flowers come from office workers that happen to be loyal customers. Yellow and white chrysanthemums are the most commonly selected flowers by consumers as they are believed to create a sense of social energy and hope, as well as being able to stimulate mental activities and are generally attractive.
The purpose of this study is to understand the impact of the need to redesign the job analysis of Gapoktan' s (Combined Group on Farmer) management towards job satisfaction. This research is a survey research using qualitative approach. The data was collected using interviews, photos, and notes in the field. Populations in this research are stakeholders (Gapoktan commitee, farmers, government) who also become a key participant in Hargobinangun, Kaliurang Sleman Daerah istimewa Yogyakarta. The Gapoktan committee' s participant is 5 person, the government is 3 person, and farmers group is 4 person. The result conclude that the job analysis can be redesigned if the job was used to improve the work method, minimize failure and mistakes, eliminate the work load handling that is unnecessary and work duplication, reduce the fatigue, improve the responsibility, and eventually can increase job satisfaction of the management. All can be analyzed by job description and job specification which attached to each management so the job satisfaction can be improved. Info Article
Nepenthes is one of Indonesian tropical plant as a biodiversity source that endangered from its extinction. One of the effort to prevent its extinction by using plant tissue isolation method on Nepenthes multiplication are needed. This research was aimed to determine the best interaction between Thiamin and benzyl amino purine concentration on in vitro Nepenthes planlet growth, Thiamin best concentration on in vitro Nepenthes planlet growth, and benzyl amino purine best concentration on in vitro Nepenthes planlet growth. The research was conducted in Agriculture Department Biotechnology Laboratory Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Yogyakarta on January – April 2018. Completed Random Design method with 2 factors was used in this research. The first factor was various concentration of Thiamin with 8 ppm, 10 ppm, and 12 ppm. The second factors was various concentration of benzyl amino purine with 0,5 ppm, 1 ppm, and 1,5 ppm. Every combination was repeated 3 times. The result of this research showed that no interaction was found in every Thiamin and benzyl amino purine various concentration on in vitro Nepenthes planlet. The usage of 10 ppm Thiamin concentration (T2) produce the best results on sprout’s amount and sprout’s height. On 1 ppm of benzyl amino purine concentration produce the best result on sprout’s amount, sptout’s height, and amount of leaves.Keyword: Nepenthes, Thiamin, Benzyl Amino Purine
Genetic diversity can be improved using the gamma ray irradiation to obtain the resistant plants to the disease. The Changes occur can be analyzed at the beginning of plant growth using molecular analysis; RAPD technique (Random Amplified Polymorfism DNA). This study aims to determine the genetic diversity produced by gamma rays irradiated and given the poly ethilene glycol given in plantlets to increase chrysanthemum resistance to Medium plain. The study used four primers tested on four treatments that were not irradiated plantlets and induced the poly ethilene glycol, gamma rays irradiated 25 gray un induced poly ethilene glycol, irradiated and induced the poly ethilene glycol 15 and 30%.The results showed a decrease of control diversity of genetic 0.20 to 0.30 in 25 gray irradiation treatment with given the poly ethilene glycol 15%.The use of the RAPD technique to determine genetic diversity resulting from gamma ray irradiation on the level of plantlets. Gamma ray irradiation treatment causing mutations in all treatments tested. Plantlets of 25 gray irradiation induced with 15%poly ethylene glycol / l showed changes in DNA structure.
Strategic role of women makes a positive contribution in chrysanthemum-based engineering design on disaster affected areas. The Merapi eruption in 2010 in Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), Indonesia, especially in the village of Hargobinangun, brought tremendous impact in the field of environmental damage, social economy, and agriculture. Post-Merapi eruption, chrysanthemum flower cultivation in the Hargobinangun village became stagnant. Some farmers have started to despair and lost determination. But thanks to the encouragement and the strategic role of women as husbands’ companions, farmers began to rise up to build sustainable and competitive green areas. This is a primary research and the data obtained was from questionnaires and interviews with some respondents. This research also used a secondary data obtained from publications of related institutions. The statistical technique used is Partial Least Square. This research concludes that the strategic role of women (as strategic partners, fighters, administrative experts, agents of change) was able to provide a significant contribution to labor productivity, family welfare, and green environmental performance. Keywords: Strategic Role of Women; Affected Areas; Chrysanthemum.
