A rapid, efficient and cost-effective method for the synthesis of titanium(IV) doped hydroxyapatite using microwave assisted wet chemical method is reported. The synthesized hydroxyapatite and titanium(IV) doped hydroxyapatite (THA) samples were characterized by using XRD, FTIR and HR-TEM with EDAX. The antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli was investigated by using the disc diffusion method showed good results. The anti-inflammatory activity by using the protein denaturation method proves to be less inflammable for in vivo applications.
The hemolytic test showed that the samples are less hemolytic.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
