Este artigo relata especial atenção dos autores no que concerne aos conhecimentos básicos de matemática financeira e uso do dinheiro pelos alunos. Tal estudo se desenvolveu durante uma disciplina do curso de doutorado com a participação de quatro doutorandos e o professor da disciplina e, teve como objetivo verificar como estudantes do 6º ano do Ensino Fundamental, de uma escola da região central do Rio Grande do Sul, interpretam e resolvem questões com dados financeiros, ou que apresentem situações do cotidiano no qual estão inseridas relações de consumo. Para tanto, adota-se uma abordagem metodológica de cunho qualitativo, sendo a produção de dados realizada a partir de um questionário impresso. Os resultados apontam que os alunos têm poucos conhecimentos de matemática financeira devendo esta ser mais trabalhada nesse nível escolar por meio de atividades que envolvam relações simples do cotidiano financeiro das famílias como por exemplo, compras no mercado.Palavras-chave: Finanças pessoais; Uso do dinheiro.
Este trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar uma reflexão sobre o ensino de formas geométricas baseado na visualização com o uso de materiais didáticos manipuláveis. Tal reflexão tem por base teórica e metodológica a Teoria dos Espaços de Trabalho de Kuzniak. Acredita-se que um ETG bem elaborado com base na visualização pode contribuir para a construção do pensamento geométrico do educando de forma interativa e motivadora, a exemplo do que foi observado pela primeira autora em uma aula numa disciplina do curso de um programa de Pós-Graduação em Ensino de Matemática ministrada pelo segundo autor.Palavras-chave: Geometria; Material didático manipulável; Pensamento geométrico.
