ResumoEste artigo pretende aferir as perceções da criança do pré-escolar na entrada para o 1º CEB. O método utilizado foi o inquérito por entrevista, aplicado a 11 crianças, na transição entre o pré-escolar e o 1º CEB, com idades entre os 5 e os 7 anos, tendo sido realizado em dois estabelecimentos de educação da cidade da Guarda. Os resultados obtidos mostraram as expetativas, medos e crenças da criança neste período de transição permitindo que o educador/professor tenha uma perspetiva mais alargada das necessidades das crianças nesta fase tão importante da sua vida. Palavras-chave: Educação pré-escolar, 1º CEB, Perceções da criança. AbstractThe present article aims to evaluate the child's perception of pre-school education as they enter primary school. The method used was interview questions, applied to 11 children, in the transition between pre-school and primary school, aged between 5 and 7 years old, and it was carried out in two public establishment of Guarda. The results obtained showed the expectations, fears and beliefs of the child in this transition period, allowing for the educator/teacher to have a larger perspective of the needs of the children in this very important phase of their life. Keywords:Pre-school education, 1º CEB, Children's perceptions O presente estudo decorreu da nossa experiência de Prática de Ensino Supervisionada (PES), no âmbito do mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar e 1º CEB, primeiramente, no último ano do jardim de infância e, de seguida, no primeiro ano do 1º CEB. Esta experiência, permitiu-nos compreender o quão são únicos e distintos estes períodos na vida das crianças, o que nos suscitou a vontade de procurar saber de que modo as mesmas lidam com este momento de mudança, tão crucial nas suas vidas, e qual a sua conceção na transição entre o pré-escolar e o 1º CEB, quais os seus medos, crenças e anseios. Sendo a educação pré-escolar, ainda que sem caráter obrigatório, "a primeira etapa da educação básica no processo de educação ao longo da vida" (OCEPE, 2016, p.5), e o 1º CEB "a etapa da escolaridade em que se concretiza, de forma mais ampla, o princípio democrático (…) e contribui para aprofundar a democratização da sociedade, numa perspetiva de desenvolvimento e progresso (…) promovendo a realização individual e preparando (…) para uma intervenção útil e responsável na comunidade (M.E, 2004, p.11), consideramos ser importante refletir sobre a articulação entre ambos os ciclos, tendo em conta "que este momento de transição é algo que está conotado por uma grande diversidade de emoções (stress, medo, alegria, angústia) (Sim-Sim, 2010, citado por Martins, 2014, p.34). São estas transições que nos inquietam, enquanto educadores/profesores, e que preocupam também a família, provocando interrogações acerca do modo como a criança irá lidar com a situação.
