RESUMENArtículo que aborda la calidad de la formación inicial docente y el nivel de ajuste entre dicha formación y las demandas del ejercicio profesional, a partir de los resultados de un estudio cuantitativo comparativo desarrollado sobre 890 profesores básicos principiantes, egresados de 23 instituciones de educación superior chilenas y 232 de sus empleadores, en términos de las dificultades que experimentan los docentes en su iniciación profesional, distinguiendo diferencias a partir de la selectividad del ingreso a las carreras de pedagogía y de los contextos de iniciación docente.Palabras clave: dificultades iniciación docente, selección estudiantes pedagogía, contextos iniciación docente, calidad formación inicial docente.
En el siguiente artículo se discute la calidad de la formación inicial docente en Chile, analizando los resultados de una encuesta online aplicada a 890 profesores básicos principiantes, egresados de 23 instituciones de educación superior y 232 de sus empleadores. El análisis considera la evaluación que estos hacen acerca de la formación inicial recibida por los profesores principiantes y distinguiendo diferencias a partir de la selectividad de los programas formativos y del tipo de contexto de iniciación docente. En un escenario nacional, marcado por el cuestionamiento a la calidad de la formación y el desempeño docente, los hallazgos muestran un alto nivel de satisfacción con la formación, e indican que la selectividad de los programas formativos y el contexto de iniciación docente se vinculan con debilidades formativas diferenciadas.
