En este artículo se da cuenta de la deixis de primera persona singular-plural en la construcción discursiva de exámenes orales finales de pregrado. La perspectiva teórica-metodológica en la que se sustenta el constructo analítico-descriptivo de este estudio es la LSF (Halliday, 1994; Halliday y Matthiessen, 2004; Martin y Rose, 2007; van Leeuwen, 2008). La metodología es cualitativa. El corpus analizado corresponde a exámenes orales finales de dos disciplinas diferentes: Lingüística y Química. Los datos que emergen del análisis destacan las distintas funciones que cumple la deixis de primera persona en la negociación interpersonal del candidato y los resultados muestran a un estudiante/investigador consciente de la elaboración y organización de su texto y evaluador de su propio discurso. Se concluye que las selecciones pronominales son multifuncionales (Fonte y Williamson, 2011) y que el buen uso de ellas permite al candidato posicionarse y legitimarse como un miembro pleno de la comunidad disciplinar correspondiente.
