Cet article (1) présente ce qu'on pourrait appeler la construction progressive d'une approche ethnographique, à travers l'analyse d'un ensemble de recherches (2) portant sur les enfants d'étrangers à l'école. Des problèmes posés par des recherches organisées d'une façon traditionnelle et m'ont amenée à réviser des difficultés méthodologiques très concrètes et m'ont conduite à reformuler les hypothèses de travail et les catégories employées.
Este articulo informa sobre la segunda etapa de una investigación sobre el tiempo-social, estudiado en varones y ninas de 10 a 17 años, hijos de inmigrados y exilados hispanófonos y lusitofonos. 101 entrevistas semi-directivas se hicieron, en la lengua materna de los sujetos. Un tratamiento en computación, seguido de un analisis estadistico cubre tres grandes temas : Tiempo e institución escolar, tiempo y comida en la escuela, tiempo en la casa. Los resultados señalan una tendencia general a la critica de las exigencias escolares relativas al tiempo. Los sujetos tienen dificultades para adaptarse a las normas francesas y tratan de mantener en el hogar la organización del tiempo del país de origen. Se analizan diferencias en el interior del grupo. La discusion intenta re-insertar los resultados en la problemática del proceso de Transculturación, tomando en cuenta las motivaciones y expectativas de inmigrantes y exilados.
