O objetivo do trabalho foi realizar um levantamento bibliográfico para verificar o que há relatado sobre alimentação, sistema imunológico e COVID-19. O novo coronavírus é uma doença ocasionada pelo vírus SARS-CoV-2, apresenta quadro clínico que varia de infecções assintomáticas a quadros respiratórios agudos graves. Diante da pandemia de Covid-19 que está acontecendo, surgem dúvidas acerca da eficácia da alimentação contra o vírus. Não existem receitas milagrosas, chás, shakes ou remédios para a cura, as recomendações nutricionais para esse momento são manter hidratação, ingestão de probióticos, prébioticos e antioxidantes, manter uma alimentação saudável com ingestão adequada de vitaminas e minerais para fortalecer o sistema imunológico além de redobrar os cuidados com a higienização dos alimentos e sua conservação. Ainda não existe comprovação relacionada a um determinado alimento ou conduta nutricional que combata a contaminação pelo novo coronavírus, mas uma alimentação saudável que supra as necessidades de micronutrientes de acordo com cada fase da vida é fundamente para o funcionamento correto do sistema imunológico. Para garantir não só o funcionamento normal do sistema imune, mas para os demais sistemas fisiológicos, faz-se necessário uma alimentação saudável que inclua carboidratos, proteínas, lipídios, vitaminas, minerais e água.
Background: This article aims to explore the factors associated with Dubowitz neurological examination scores in preterm new-borns. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study in which forty preterm new-borns were evaluated by using the Dubowitz neurological examination on their first outpatient visit following hospital discharge. A questionnaire was also deployed to explore parental variables. Results: Preterm new-borns with low scores in the Dubowitz neurological examination were born at an even lower gestational age, required longer hospitalisation, and had more indicators for orotracheal intubation. Positive correlations between the subdomains of the Dubowitz neurological examination with birthweight, mother's age, Apgar score at 5 min, maternal and paternal education, and income were also significant. Linear regression analyses explained 26% of the of the Dubowitz neurological examination global score, retaining birthweight, income, and father’s age as significant predictors. Conclusions: Early, appropriated neurological assessments of preterm infants are critical to detect risk factors that may underpin developmental delays.
Em dezembro de 2019, houve um surto de uma nova doença infecciosa em Wuhan na província de Hubei na China. A doença do coronavírus 2019 (COrona VIrus Disease - COVID-19) é causada pelo sétimo coronavírus identificado: síndrome respiratória aguda grave do coronavírus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Esse artigo tem como objetivo reunir o atual conhecimento disponível na literatura sobre a COVID-19 em recém-nascidos, com enfoque em epidemiologia, sinais e sintomas, resultados de testes diagnósticos, resultados de exames de imagem e desfecho neonatal. De acordo com estudos chineses, a probabilidade de transmissão intrauterina parece ser baixa. Crianças representam cerca de 2% dos casos de COVID-19 diagnosticados na China, 1,7% no Brasil e 1,2% na Itália. Neonatos nascidos de mães que testaram positivo para COVID-19, apresentaram dispneia, cianose, vômitos e intolerância alimentar, febre, taquicardia, gemidos e rash cutâneo. No exame tomográfico, o sinal do halo envolvendo consolidação é uma característica típica dos pacientes pediátricos, diferentemente do esperado para adultos.
O estudo apresenta informações a respeito das características clínico-epidemiológicas da COVID-19 bem como das medidas necessárias e seus respectivos funcionamentos, para evitar a disseminação desenfreada do vírus. Tem por objetivo revisar trabalhos atualizados que se referem à infecções pelo SARS-CoV-2, sua relação com as medidas preventivas e os impactos nos sistemas de saúde, além servir como meio de informação a respeito da enfermidade. O artigo trata-se de uma revisão de literatura referente à COVID-19 associada às infecções respiratórias, antissepsia e prevenção. Foram utilizadas as bases de dados Google acadêmico e Scielo, além da busca em sites oficiais do Ministério da Saúde do Brasil, Organização Mundial da Saúde e do Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estadunidense, somados a dados de livro do acervo pessoal do autor. Por fim, para poupar o maior número possível de vidas, evitar o colapso do sistema de saúde e permitir uma retomada econômica segura, é imprescindível que sejam estabelecidas e implementadas medidas preventivas como higiene das mãos com água e sabão ou álcool 70%, “etiqueta respiratória”, distanciamento interpessoal, não compartilhamento de objetos de uso pessoal, manter ambientes bem ventilados, uso de máscaras artesanais e distanciamento social.
