RESUMOCOVID-19 é responsável por uma das mais abrangentes pandemias da história, causada pelo coronavírus SARS-CoV-2, que apresenta um dos maiores desafios para a saúde pública. O presente estudo consiste em uma revisão integrativa de literatura sobre pessoas que foram afetados psicologicamente durante a pandemia e que estão fazendo uso de medicamentos com eficácia não comprovada para o novo Coronavirus. Verificou-se a influência do COVID-19 na saúde mental, bem como a percepção e a automedicação de pacientes psicologicamente afetados durante a pandemia. Além disso, foi relatado também que a propagação por meio das mídias sociais, uma gama de informações algumas vezes inverídicas, leva à desinformação da população e a adesão dos mesmos a automedicação, como forma de escape e amenização dos medos e ansiedade gerados pela pandemia, sendo esta uma medida incorreta, visto que muitos pacientes apresentam efeitos colaterais, acarretando prejuízo da saúde e das atividades de vida diárias.
Introdução: Os benzodiazepínicos são os psicofármacos mais utilizados globalmente e possuem propriedades farmacológicas que propiciam ação sedativa, hipnótica, ansiolítica, anticonvulsivante e relaxante muscular. A eficácia dos benzodiazepínicos é bem documentada nos tratamentos de curta duração, porém o uso prolongado é contraindicado devido aos riscos de efeitos adversos, incluindo a dependência.Objetivo: evidenciar o efeito a longo prazo do uso de benzodiazepínicos por idosos. Metodologia: Foi feita uma revisão bibliográfica e webliográfica, realizada no período de julho de 2020 a agosto de 2021, onde foram utilizadas as bases de dados Scientific Electronic Library Online – SciELO, US National Library of Medicine Nacional Institutes of Health (PubMed), Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) e Google Acadêmico. Foi utilizada também a consulta a livros e periódicos presentes na Biblioteca do Centro Universitário de Patos de Minas. Após aplicados os critérios de inclusão e de exclusão foi realizada análise de 22 publicações. Resultados e Discussão: O estudo das bibliografias selecionadas mostrou que o uso de benzodiazepínicos entre idosos tem alta prevalência. Além disso, essa classe de medicamentos não é recomendada para uso por longevos, agravando suas consequências ainda mais quando o tratamento é realizado a longo prazo, exacerbando uma série de eventos adversos sem apresentar eficácia nesse formato de uso. Conclusão: é importante buscar formas menos prejudiciais para sanar as queixas em relação a sono e ansiedade em longevos e também capacitar os profissionais de saúde, a fim de identificar medicamentos com uso não recomendado para idosos e propor formas de otimizar as prescrições.

Os esteroides anabolizantes (EAA) são substâncias que incluem a testosterona e seus derivados, que têm a função de aumentar a síntese proteica, inibir o catabolismo proteico e estimular a eritropoiese. Assim, como as mulheres possuem uma menor produção de testosterona, no meio fitness, muitas têm utilizado anabolizantes para fins estéticos, buscando adquirir uma melhor aparência, reduzir gordura corporal, aumentar o volume muscular e a força. Entretanto, como consequência do uso de EAA, observa-se efeitos virilizantes indesejados, como acne, modificação da voz, crescimento de pelos, amenorreia, queda de cabelo e hipertrofia do clitóris. Há prejuízos para diversos sistemas corporais, entre eles cabe destacar o cardiovascular, endócrino, reprodutivo, digestório e excretor. A longo prazo, sabe-se que muitos efeitos são irreversíveis. Diante dos malefícios observados na presente revisão, fica claro que é imprescindível a busca pela orientação médica para aqueles que desejam utilizar tais substâncias, de modo que as doses sejam ajustadas e os efeitos adversos acompanhados, para que a estética e a busca pelo corpo perfeito não tornem um empecilho para a própria saúde.
Introdução: A automedicação é definida pela OMS como a administração de fármacos sem a prescrição e o acompanhamento de um profissional, podendo gerar malefícios como intoxicação, alergias, dependência e o mascaramento de doenças evolutivas. A prática ocorre devido à precariedade do sistema de saúde e ao acesso à internet, tornando-se frequente nos universitários, principalmente os estudantes de medicina, os quais possuem maior autoconfiança devido ao estudo sobre farmacologia, acesso facilitado, contato direto com profissionais e falta de tempo para procurar auxílio médico. Objetivo: discorrer sobre o aumento da automedicação nos estudantes de medicina a partir de uma revisão de literatura. Metodologia: pesquisa descritiva do tipo revisão de literatura nos meses de março e abril de 2022. Resultados e discussão: a automedicação é facilitada atualmente devido a propagandas e internet, principalmente nos estudantes de medicina e ocorre devido à falta de fiscalização sobre comercialização sem prescrição. Os medicamentos mais utilizados por esse grupo são AINES, antibióticos e ansiolíticos, sendo este devido à rotina extenuante. Portanto, a automedicação é um ato que necessita ser evitado, pois apresenta consequências maléficas ao indivíduo, como prejuízos cognitivos, dependência e efeitos adversos.
