YouTube video is one alternative solution in teaching speaking during pandemic. This study attempts to find the use of YouTube videos to improve speaking skill of students and how teaching and learning process using YouTube videos are implemented in the class. A classroom action research was conducted to first semester college students of Muhammadiyah University of Kudus in 2020. The population of this study was all non-English program and the samples were 85 students in redundant class chosen using purposive sampling. The data were obtained from speaking assessment and interview and later analyzed by using constant comparative method and descriptive statistic. This study showed that YouTube video as English learning material improved speaking skill of students including fluency, vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and content. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of YouTube Video is able to improve the students’ speaking skill during online learning in pandemic Covid-19. Further study may concern on the use of YouTube Video to teach other English skills like reading and writing.
This study aims at investigating the effects of Student Team Achievement Division Cooperative Learning (STAD CL) at eleventh grade students of Senior High School 1 Kudus and finding solutions and strategies to make teachers have a formed opinion of the use of STAD in delivering the subject matter while teaching to make more it effective.This study was experimental research. The population of this study was the eleventh year students of Senior High School 1 Kudus in the Academic Year 2015/2016. There were five classes from XI-A to XI -E. Each class had 35 students, so the total population were 175 students. Meanwhile the samples of this study were eighty students from four classes which were selected based on the historical factors and pre-existing ability. 80 students were choosen to be a sample, 40 as experimental group and 40 as control group. Both groups were given the pre-test to measure students' reading skill and after several times of treatments, both groups were given the post-test.The results of the study showed that there was significant difference between the means of experimental and control groups on the reading achievement. Hence, STAD CL was more effective than conventional in the way that mostly students developed their reading performance in the classroom. Further study may also be conducted to determine whether teachers’ use of STAD CL appears to reduce student anxiety and stress in the classroom to improve students’ reading or even other skills, retention, and student-teacher relationships.AbstractPenelitian ini bertujuan
TikTok is one of the popular applications that contain short-video sharing. Every year, the number of users grows up in every country. They use TikTok not only as the media for entertainment and business but also as the media for learning. The aim of this research is to describe the effect of the TikTok application to improve students’ speaking skills. This research belongs to quasi-experimental research with group pre-post-test design involving 32 students in Diploma of Midwifery Program Universitas Muhammadiyah Kudus as the population. The sampling technique is total sampling with the experimental group (16 students) and control group (16 students). To know the students’ speaking skills, there are four components that must be measured, such as vocabulary, fluency, pronunciation, and comprehension. Moreover, the students’ score has been classified into five categories, they are very good, good, medium, low, and failed. After treatment, the score of speaking ability is improved for the experimental group. The vocabulary increases 45,6%, fluency increases 40,6%, pronunciation increases 31,6%, and comprehension increases 32,8% from the pre-test score. TikTok is a useful application that not only improves speaking ability but also improves the students’ creativity, motivation, and vocabulary.If the students have wrong in speaking, they not only get the academic punishment but also digital punishment.
ABSTRAK Masyarakat dusun Selungguh yang rata-rata mempunyai mata pencaharian berupa pertanian menggantungkan kehidupan mereka pada siklus alam. Hal inilah yang membuat mereka secara naluri mendekatkan diri mereka kepada Tuhan yme. sebagai pemilik alam raya agar senantiasa memberikan tanaman yang subur serta hasil yang baik. Rupa-rupanya hal ini tidak didukung dengan estafet keilmuan baca tulis Alquran kepada generasi selanjutnya. Menurunnya intitusi pengajaran yang ada di masjid Al-Falah membuat para warga berinisiatif mejalankan program pengajaran Alquran secara privat di masing-masing rumah. Hal inilah yang menjadikan peneliti bekerjasama dengan tokoh agama dan masyarakat dusun Selungguh untuk mengadakan pelatihan manajemen madrasah diniyyah dalam rangka revitalisasi fungsi masjid sebagai pusat pengajaran Alquran. Dengan sambutan yang hangat dari warga masyarakat peneliti mengundah tokoh yang berkompeten dalam bidang ini untuk memberikan pelatihan. Dengan materi dan kemapuan yang mumpuni masyarakat tergerak untuk kembali mengagendakan program pengajaran Alquran di masjid yang mereka sudah punyai. Dengan dampingan yang intens selama satu bulan penuh. Akhirnya pemusatan pengajaran Alquran di masjid al-Falah berjalan dengan baik dan disambut oleh masyarakat dengan antisias.
AbstrakPajak merupakan salah satu sumber pendapatan negara yang bersifat memaksa berdasarkan undang-undang. Semakin banyak wajib pajak tidak mempengaruhi semakin tinggi tingkat kepatuhan wajib pajak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kepatuhan wajib pajak pelaku UMKM di masa pandemi. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dan seknder. Data primer yaitu kuesioner yang disebar kepada pemilik UMKM di Kota Pati. Data sekunder yaitu data yang yang diambil dari Dinas Koperasi dan UMKM Kota Pati. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan purposive sampling. UMKM yang dijadikan sampel penelitian berjumlah 46 UMKM yang telah memenuhi kriteria pengambilan sampel. Teknis analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah uji kualitas instrumen dan analisis linear berganda dengan bantuan program SPSS 23. Hasil penelitian ini menunjkkan variabel kesadaran pajak, sanksi pajak, tingkat pendidikan, pemahaman peraturan perpajakan berpengaruh terhadap kepatuhan wajib pajak. Sedangkan sosialisasi pajak tidak berpengaruh terhadap kepatuhan wajib pajak. Learning material is important for students, unfortunately finding the appropriate material is not easy. One of the cause is the online and commercial materials cannot cover the students need and curriculum. This research aims to develop the appropriate speaking materials for nursing students. This study was Research and Development (RND). The population and sample was 105 nursing students that divided into two groups, experimental and control group. The experimental group used the speaking material developed, and the control group used the commercial material. The data come from pre-test, post-test, questionnaire and observation. The findings are there are four aspects in five units that should be developed, such as topic, language, organization, design, and exercise. Moreover, the students speaking also analyzed based on fluency, coherence, grammatical, accuracy and pronunciation. The result of calculation in the experimental group has the significant value with p value <0,05 and in the control group, the p value is > 0,05. Therefore, it can be concluded that 1) Based on the effectiveness analysis of five units, the low category from 4% become 0% and the high category from 71% become 87%. 2) Based on the judges, the judges strongly agree the speaking material that has been developed strongly appropriate for the students. It can be seen from the score from English lecturer is 4,65, from expert judges is 4,39 and from stakeholder is 4,57. 5) There is a significant improvement after using speaking material after developed.
