In the search for alternative method beside the use of dangerous insecticides for health and the environment, the vegetable kingdom offers many possibilities. Work is carried out in this direction and showed an effectiveness of the extracts of plants. Our results indicate that the chloroformic contents present a better larvicidal activity than the other extracts. In addition, the analysis by Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) of the three extracts of stems showed their wealth of flavonic compounds before compounds, alkaloids and tannins thus suggesting a correlation between the larvicidal activity and the contents in secondary metabolites of stems.
The evaluation of the commercial quality and freshness of consumer eggs in Dakar, Senegal, involved 1,000 egg samples. The values of the physical parameters showed that the eggs had an average weight of 60.3g and the average age of 7.6 days. The majority of eggs had an oval shape (98.1%), 76.8% of eggs are clean against 23.2% dirty and 93.4% of the shells are intact against 6.6% rugged. On the other hand, 18.3% of the eggs have a spread albumen, 7.2% of the whites have foreign bodies, 5% have stains and no color and odor anomalies with a pH ranging from 8 to 9, 5. 21.4% of egg yolks are flattened, 86.6% of normal color, 10.4% have stains, no embryo development and no odor anomaly with a pH ranging from 5.7 to 6.5.100 eggs were microbiologically tested. The results showed that this food is contaminated internally by Salmonella (1%), E.coli (1%), Proteus (1%), Listeria (2%) and externally by Salmonella (2%). E. coli (4%), Proteus (3%), Staphyloccocus (5%).
The content of chemical compounds of two leguminous plants (Alysicarpus ovalifolius and Indigofera pilosa) was given through chromatographic methods (HPLC) and spectrocolorimetry. The principal isolated compounds are: β-Carotene in the sheets, the vitamin B in the roots and the vitamin C in the pods. Trace elements are not also insulated in the two plant species. The results show a content iodine (0.27 mg/100g of sample) particularly high in the stems of Indigofera pilosa, what could explain the use of the plant to fight against the thyroid dysfunctions. The ratio iron in mg/100g of sample 114.14 is rather important and would make Indigofera pilosa a palliative against anaemia. The two plants would be indicated in cases of treatment of hypocalcaemia.
This study is part of the search for solutions to the problems encountered in the manufacture and export of fish fillets. The production of fish fillets is mainly marked by a little mechanization. Thus, it is subjected to strong manipulation by the personnel, source of contamination. As a result, the search for thermotolerant coliforms, most of which are of fecal origin, makes it possible to assess the level of contamination of products and to judge the effectiveness of the hygiene measures taken by the fishnet production units.190 preventive samples from 4 companies were studied. A survey was conducted to categorize the companies. Subsequently, the thermotolerant coliforms were counted on the violet crystal and neutral red (VRBL) bile lactose agar, inoculated in mass according to the French standard ISO 4832.It appears that of the 190 samples; 97.4% (185) of the results are satisfactory while 2.6% (5) of the results are unsatisfactory. The evaluation of the manufacturers of these nets indicated that there was a positive correlation between the number of serious defects and the unsatisfactory results. The result is that the best organized firms have the best laboratory results.Citation: Doutoum AD, Tidjani A, Somda MK, Traore AS, Kallo V, Ndiaye A, et al., (2018) Search for thermotolerant coliforms in the fillets of frozen fish produced in cote d'ivoire and intended for export, GJBAHS 7: 1. doi:
We present a case of postpartum ischemic stroke due to hypertension of pregnancy complicated by uterine rupture. Thanks to the clinical elements, in particular postpartum seizures, disturbances of consciousness and an immediate CT scan confirmed the diagnosis. The patient was resuscitated and transferred to neurology with hemiparesis as a sequel. We hope that the treatment of these patients can be improved thanks to our experience in this case management.
