Penelitian ini membahas kampanye humas di bidang kesehatan yang dilakukan oleh KICKS (Koalisi Indonesia Cegah Kanker Serviks) sebagai salah satu upaya guna mengenalkan vaksinasi HPV sebagai pencegah primer kanker serviks. Menggunakan metode studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai strategi yang sesuai dalam mengenalkan inovasi di bidang kesehatan, hambatan yang dihadapi dan cara menghadapinya. Dengan menganalisa elemen utama difusi inovasi, didukung konsep public relations dan komunikasi kesehatan, hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa KICKS telah mempertimbangkan 4 elemen utama difusi inovasi, yang terdiri dari inovasi, saluran komunikasi, waktu, dan sistem sosial. Di mana humas KICKS membentuk strategi dengan memaksimalkan penggunaan opinion leader. Menggunakan media massa, new media dan komunikasi interpersonal sebagai saluran komunikasi. Pesan juga diolah dengan mempertimbangkan karakteristik inovasi, dan pada saat ini pengenalan vaksinasi HPV oleh KICKS umumnya baru masuk ke dalam tahap persuasi di dalam proses keputusan inovasi.
Indonesia has become the country with the second-highest number of cervical cancer patients. It is the only type of cancer that could be prevented, but the public's understanding is still very low. The urgency of this issue especially applied for the millennial generation. This study discusses the campaigns in the health sector conducted by Indonesia Cervical Cancer Prevention Coalition as an effort to introduce HPV vaccination as primary prevention of cervical cancer, where one of the main strategies used is by maximizing the role of celebrities as opinion leaders. This paper discusses how cervical cancer preventive measures are often seen as sensitive, frightening, and embarrassing by the millennial generation in Indonesia. Aims to obtain information about the use of celebrity opinion leaders as one of the KICKS communication strategies, obstacles faced and how to deal with them. The authors use a qualitative approach, with primary data obtained through interviews with seven informants. By using diffusion of innovation theory approach from Everett M. Rogers, which focuses on the role of opinion leaders, the results of this study show that what is done and said by opinion leaders regarding an innovation can be an important consideration for millennials. Where similarities that celebrities had as a part of the social system help making the message more relevant, memorable, reliable and trustworthy. However, it could not be denied that the use of celebrities as opinion leaders has its advantages and disadvantages, and besides that interpersonal communication is still needed.
<span lang="EN-US">This study discussed Darmasiswa program as Indonesia’s public diplomacy effort in the educational fields conducted by the Republic Indonesia Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud RI). Despite its vast opportunities, Indonesia still has difficulties attracting international students compared to various neighboring countries. By analyzing the seven pillars of public diplomacy, supported by international communication and industry 4.0 concept, this study showed that Kemendikbud has considered the seven pillars in public diplomacy in conducting public diplomacy efforts. It is found that Darmasiswa is a state-directed effort designed to enhance favorable international relations through the student movement’s positive experience. The strategy is formed by uses various types of communication channels that support each other’s. The message is also processed by involving policy and rationality by prioritizing consistent, truthful, and credible as part of the main elements. Besides, they form strategies by maximizing cooperation with various parties. In Kemendikbud, the program undertakes audience research and actors from 1st and 2nd track diplomacy as part of its tactics. The program also found that public diplomacy in Darmasiswa program has acknowledged changes in the 4.0 era through new media usage. However, there are still many challenges encountered in the performance of the seven pillars.</span>
The research aimed to analyze the intercultural communication competence based on international students’ experience in Indonesia and discussed how, in the globalization era, education had reached a new stage where the process of knowledge exchange had crossed national borders. However, educational institutions were not fully prepared to accommodate these modern needs. Although the study of intercultural communication was not new, concern for new cultural diversity had only received great attention lately, wherein the end, the Intercultural Communication Competence (ICC) in educational fields was still very low and must continue to be explored. The research applied a case and phenomenological study method with a descriptive qualitative approach. The data were gathered through semi-structured interviews and study literature. By analyzing the interactive multicultural building model, supported by the concept of intercultural communication and internationalization of higher education, the research results show that there are still inequalities and differences of opinion as well as an assessment of a three-perspective model that is used as the research focus. It consists of the affective process (intercultural sensitivity), cognitive process (intercultural awareness), and behavioral process (intercultural adroitness). Besides, there are various challenges that must be faced.

Menekuni profesi sebagai seorang hubungan masyarakat (humas) berhasil melanggengkan niat Prita dalam membangun dan mengelola kampus komunikasi bernama The London School of Public Relations (LSPR), yang kini bertransformasi menjadi LSPR Communication & Business Institute. Telaah paduan kepemimpinan perempuan, kompetensi, pengelolaan, dampak dan tantangan, dalam bahasan komunikasi organisasi akan diulas pada chapter ini sebagai konsep pemberdayaan perempuan di era global.
