α-Aminophosphonates play an important role across several fields, including organic synthesis and various potential applications. This review paper surveys recent achievements in the synthesis of α-Aminophosphonates, it summarizes the main synthetic routes towards α-Aminophosphonates that are known and it describes their biological proprieties from January2010 till December 2020: Special attention is devoted to green chemical approaches including catalysts, ultrasonic and microwave irradiations. We hope this paper will be a useful resource for researchers and that it will help them to work in this emerging research area.

A new environmentally benign, simple, and efficient protocol for the sulfonylation of amines using microwave irradiation under solvent- & catalyst-free conditions is reported. The corresponding sulfonamides were obtained in excellent yields within short reaction times.

An efficient access to a novel series of organophosphorus compounds with a cyclosulfamide moiety is described. Starting from α-hydroxyphosphonates, the 2-chloroethyl-(1, 2, 5-thiadiazoline-2-carbonyloxy-1-dioxide) phosphonates compounds were prepared in three steps including an Abramov reaction, carbamoylation-sulfamoylation with chlorosulfonyl isocyanate and an intramolecular cyclisation. The spectroscopic methods( 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, 31 P NMR, MS and IR) were used to determine the structural characteristics of the synthesized compounds and X-ray crystallographic data were provided for compound 3c. Some selected compounds were screened in vitro for their antimicrobial activity against a panel of microorganisms, resulting in a good antibacterial activity compared to standard drugs.

A new simple, efficient, greener, and catalyst-free chemoselective protocol for the O-tert-butoxycarbonylation of various structurally diverse hydroxy compounds was carried out with (Boc)2O under microwave radiation. The corresponding O-tert-butoxy carbonates were obtained in good to excellent yields in a short reaction time without any side reactions.
