Cloud computing connotes the systematic delivery of computing resources as services to a wide range of users via the Internet. One form of Cloud computing, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), ensures the availability of the resources in the form of Virtual Machines (VMs). Such services are leased to users based on demand and are paid for on a pay-per-use basis. This helps to reduce the cost of running the computing needs of the users. Usually, the VMs are ran on datacenters comprise several computing resources that consume lots of energy, and causing hazardous levels of carbon emissions into the atmosphere. Several researchers have proposed various energy-efficient methods of reducing the energy consumption of the datacenters. Nature has been a cause of inspiration and had a solution to all problem. Therefore, this paper presents a comprehensive review of the state-of-the-art, Nature-Inspired algorithms that have been used in solving the energy issues in the Cloud datacenters. We have categorized all the methods considered into three main techniques; virtualization, consolidation, and energy-awareness. Moreover, we reviewed the different methods in terms their goals, methods, advantages, and limitations. We then compared the nature-inspired algorithms based on their features to indicate their utilization of resources and their levels of energy-efficiency. Finally, we have suggested the potential research directions in this research field. We believe that this review work will be of interest to researchers and professional in Cloud computing datacenters in their quest to providing better energy-efficient methods to address the energy consumption issues of the Cloud datacenters..

Purpose In the current information age, when the attention spans of most people have become very short, marketers are facings serious challenges to grab the attention of their target audience effectively and fruitfully. From street corner to bedroom, virtually every perceivable location of human traces are littered with activity of marketers, whether they are small or large in scale or the recipients of their information understand the message properly. Studying consumers’ acceptance of the main ethical issues in communication, mainly in advertising, has recently been receiving much attention from scholars. Therefore, to grab the attention of people in the increasing competitive environment, advertisers have resorted to using what they feel can quickly attract the audience. For example, the attachment of attractive women with their physical natural endowments presented in explicit sexually appealing postures to products/services that have no linkage with women. These practices have raised some moral and ethical questions within the society. Therefore, this study aims to focus on discussing marketing communication through presenting women as a sexual object from the morality, ethics and religious perspectives. Design/methodology/approach This is a descriptive study based on the systematic literature review. Initially, this paper discusses the ethical issues of using women and sexual appeals in the process of marketing communication, as well as the current level of practices in the industry. Then, it discusses the consequences and dimensions of the issues from different types of ethical grounds. Finally, it provides recommendations with the objective of finding a common ground from business and social perspectives. It also mentions the scopes of further research, which could lead the secular world to modify their moral values and come closer to the norms of other civilized societies. Findings The position of the paper takes is that considering the negative effects of the prevalent advertising in society, the practice falls short of human moral values; as a result, it is considered unethical. Originality/value This review paper examines the ethical implication of using women as marketing tools from the perspectives of morality, business and Islamic principles that will help business groups, as well as the whole religious community, especially Muslims.

-Human vital physiological parameters (HVPP) monitoring with embedded sensors integration has improved the smart system technology in this era of a ubiquitous platform. Several IoT-based healthcare applications have been proposed for remote health monitoring. Most of the devices developed require one on one contact with doctors before any medical diagnosis is undertaken which make it difficult for frequent visitation to the health center. In this paper, embedded heartbeat and temperature sensors for remote monitoring have been developed using Arduino lily as the system controller and processing unit. The Bluetooth low power enables with Android mobile apps is used for remote monitoring and communication of HVPP in a real time. This gives medical personnel and individual customers opportunity of monitoring their vital physiological parameters such as heartbeat rate and body temperature. However, it moderates sudden attack of chronic ailment like hypertension and reduces congestion of patient in the hospitals.

Cryptocurrency has emerged as the most promising digital asset, which serves as a medium of exchange with distributed control and highly secured financial system. This lead to an increase in stakeholders’ interest in digital currency investment. The cryptocurrencies majorly involve two phases including Initial Coin Offering (ICO) and blockchain creation. These phases have been challenged with criticisms in terms of the Islamic shariah injunctions. These criticisms are based on two fundamental issues including whether cryptocurrency is backed by asset and has a regulatory authority or not. These issues are related to uncertainty, volatility and high speculation of the cryptocurrencies. Although, several cryptocurrencies claimed to have considered the shariah requirements in their proposed cryptocurrency ecosystems. However, a strict analysis of some of the existing cryptocurrencies reveals otherwise. Therefore, this paper presents a review of some shariah-compliant cryptocurrencies focusing on their volatility and speculation. The operations of cryptocurrencies need to follow the Islamic shariah requirements. The proposed review provides an insight regarding the acclaimed shariah-compliant cryptocurrencies to assess whether they comply with the shariah requirements or not.

Nature-inspired algorithms in computer science and engineering are algorithms that take their inspiration from living things and imitate their actions in order to construct functional models. The SOS algorithm (symbiotic organisms search) is a new promising metaheuristic algorithm. It is based on the symbiotic relationship that exists between different species in an ecosystem. Organisms develop symbiotic bonds like mutualism, commensalism, and parasitism to survive in their environment. Standard SOS has since been modified several times, either by hybridization or as better versions of the original algorithm. Most of these modifications came from engineering construction works and other discipline like medicine and finance. However, little improvement on the standard SOS has been noticed on its application in cloud computing environment, especially cloud task scheduling. As a result, this paper provides an overview of SOS applications in task scheduling problem and suggest a new enhanced method for better performance of the technique in terms of fast convergence speed.
