Watulimo District, Trenggalek Regency is one of the area in East Java Province that has an abundant marine potential. However, this huge potential has not been optimally developed in a form of marine tourism. This study aims to determine internal and external factors that influence the development of marine tourism in Watulimo Subdistrict, Trenggalek, and develop a strategy of marine tourism development in a sustainable manner. This study was conducted on 4 beaches in Watulimo Subdistrict, Trenggalek Regency: Prigi, Karanggongso, Cengkrong, and Damas. Interviews were conducted by using semi-structured technique. Secondary data is obtained from government policy documents relating to tourism; tourism infrastructure facilities in the research location; data of tourist visits; geography and demographics; socio-cultural and economic data. Most respondents believe that promotion (0.083) and tourist information center (0.075) indicator are considered very important. Advances in information technology have the highest weight (0.097), where respondents can know about the state of the marine tourism area based on information and reviews. The results show the number of scores obtained from the weighting and external factor rating of 2.656 (good value range), which illustrates that the marine tourism area in Watulimo has an opportunity in its development. Cooperation with travel agents, hotels, restaurants, and tourist information centers for Trenggalek District can be incorporated into their brochures to increase traffic.
Human population growth has rapidly conversed the natural environment into agricultural and plantation area in Indonesia. This phenomenon resulted a reduction and fragmentation habitats, and led to the loss of biodiversity. By exploring Wonosobo, we were able to analyse the herpetofauna composition on three different habitat, including river, salak plantation [Salacca zalacca (Gaert.) Voss], and paddy fields. We identified 17 species (60,7%) from river, 15 species (53,6%) from paddy field, and 13 species (46,4%) from salak plantation. Shannon-wiener index diversity (H') categorized herpetofauna diversity in all three habitats as medium. Meanwhile, the evenness index (E) showed that herpetofauna community in river classified as unstabile (E=0.7302). River was predicted be functioned as transit area for herpetofauna to hunt. There were no herpetofauna species predominating all three habitats, and this indicating that the ecosystem balance was well preserved. This study revealed that agriculture and plantation area affected the herpetofauna composition, yet it still able to maintain the diversity well. In addition, the water bodies, including river and irrigation in agriculture and plantation area, should be maintained its quality as it plays an important part in herpetofauna conservation.
Kata kunci: Bandealit, birdwatching, jalur birdwatching ABSTRACT Indonesia is one of the world's tropical countries that have high biodiversity. This area is not only famous for Javan Tiger protection, but also presents a variety of beautiful natural scenery and location of tropical rainforest that is still protected, one of them is Bandealit. This study aimed to determine the strategic path that can be recommended as a birdwatching path in

The diversity of Butterfly in Coban Rais is one of the potential resources for tourism product diversification and development. The aims of this paper are to determine the magnitude of the butterfly potential as a form of tourism products diversification and development in a sustainable tourism industry. There are 107 species of butterfly that come from six families was found in Coban Rais waterfall. Some species have a very large population in a specified activity, such as mud-puddling and mating. Udara akasa has the highest potential to make colony and Cyrestis lutea is a species that have the potential as a major attraction in the mud-puddling activity. Sector 3, the location of riparian with sand and gravel, is the site of the largest butterfly visits. The dry season is the highlight of a butterfly visit in Coban Rais. Development of human resources is important for the tourism products diversification in Coban Rais, i.e. the butterflies observer and visitors services. We recommend establishing a breeding center for butterfly population recovery and educational goals for visitors.
