This study was designed to note the preventive effect of Utrica dioica aqueous extract (100 mg / kg of body weight) in healthy white male rats exposed to copper sulfate poisoning (40 mg / kg bw) throughout the 30day treatment period, and the weights ranged between 240-260 g and their ages are between 2-3 months, and the animals were divided randomly into four groups, each group containing 7 rats. Results showed that when Utrica dioica extract was administered, it led to a significant decrease of P < 0.05 in cholesterol concentration and a significant increase in high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and no significant difference in organ weights, glucose, uric acid, urea, creatinine, triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and Very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) compared to the control group. When animals were given copper sulfate, it led to a significant decrease in body weight, and a significant increase in weights (liver, kidney and spleen), glucose, uric acid, urea, creatinine, TG and LDL triglycerides, and it did not differ significantly in cholesterol, HDL and VLDL compared with the control group. When administering (Utrica dioica + copper), it led to a significant decrease in kidney weight, glucose, uric acid, urea, creatinine, triglycerides and LDL, and a significant increase in body weight and HDL while it did not significantly differ in cholesterol and VLDL from compared with the group that was given Copper sulfate. It is concluded from the study that the Utrica dioica extract had positive effects in animals exposed to copper sulfate poisoning.
The study carried out to investigate the effect of orally feeding from each Nigella sativa aqueous and alcoholic extracts at 50 and 100 mg/kg concentration of animal body weight liver and kidney functions parameters in male rats for 21 days. Randomly divided in to (5) groups, each group included (5) animals..The results showed a significant decrease (p<0.05) in Urea, ALP, ALT and AST. led to a significant increase (p<0.05) in total protein, albumin, globulin with the increased concentration of extract, when compared with values in control group. The study concluded that, the aquatic and alcoholic extracts Nigella sativa seeds did not give any effects toxicity on liver and kidney functions in male rats.
The current study in Veterinary Medicine College in kirkuk University and kirkuk hosbital for period from 2-2-2015 end 28-12-2015, and designed to observe and test the preventive and Therapy effects for powder of Urtica dioica leaves and Moringa oleifera leaves and seeds in healthy adult males albino rats that exposed to cadmium chloride (5 mg/kg of body weight) and lead acetate (50 mg/kg of body weight) and the amount of the transaction over the period (30) days on Profile of blood lipids, randomly divided into (18) groups, each group included (5) animals. Giving the powder of Urtica dioica leaves and Moringa oleifera seeds led significant decrease (P˂0.05) in concentrations of TC, TG, LDL-C, VLDL-C and significant increase (P˂0.05) in HDL-C, While administration of Moringa oleifera leaf powder for animal groups to the same previous results, whereas did not show significant differences (p˃0.05) in glucose, TG, HDL-C, malondia-ldehyde (MDA) and VLDL-C all of these in comparison with the normal control group. The groups that given cadmium chloride and lead acetate caused a significant increase in the TG, LDL-C, VLDL-C, malondialdehyde (MDA) and significant decrease in HDL-C in comparison with the normal control group. But compariing of these groups with the groups that administrated only Urtica dioica leaves and Moringa oleifera leaves and seeds led to significant decrease in HDL-C. and a significant increase in the TC, TG, LDL-C, VLDL-C. The groups of animals which treated with the powder of these plants under study before and after of exposed to each of cadmium chloride and lead acetate showed a positive effect on the Profile of blood lipids.
This study was aimed to search the effect of Camel milk on males albino mice exposed to ferrous sulfate toxic 30 mg / kg body weight for period 30 days. The animals were randomly divided into 3 groups, each group comprising 5 animals that weigh 26-27 gm. The results of oral dose were shown with ferrous sulfate a significant decrease in (P <0.05) in body weight, MON, GRAN, HCB, HCT. And significant increase (P<0.05) in kidney, spleen, LYM, MCHC, AST, ALT, Urea. And no significant difference in the heart, liver, WBC, RBCs, MCV, MCH, Protein and Albumin compared with the control group. As for the results of oral dosage of Camel’s milk + ferrous sulfate appeared a beneficial effect of these values compared to the group given ferrous sulfate. The oral dose of ferrous sulfate causes pathological histopathological changes in the kidneys and liver of male mice. The tissue is Separation of central venous wall from Hepatocyte and the Existence of congestion in the liver and Clear hemorrhage within the kidney tissue with a clear contraction of renal glomerulosclerosis in the kidneys. The treatment with Camel’s milk + ferrous sulfate showed the return of central vein and hepatocytes to a semi-natural condition with congestion remaining within the central vein in the liver and showing Glomerulus and urinary tubules are almost normal in the kidneys. Showed an effect to reduce damage or damage completely in certain areas of the tissue compared to ferrous sulfate group.
The current study was designed to observe and test the preventive for Portulaca oleracea aqueous extract on blood parameters and histological changes of liver and kidneys in in males albino mice that exposed to copper sulphate poisoning (40 mg / kg bw) for 30 days. The animals were divided into (3) groups containing five (5) animals and weighing (20-24 gm). The results of oral administration with copper sulphate showed significant decrease in (P <0.05) in body weight and organ count, which included (kidney, heart, liver and testicles), WBCs, LYM, MON, RBCs, HCB, HCT, MCV, MCH and MCHC. And significantly increased (P <0.05) in the spleen, GRAN, PLT ALP, AST and ALT compared with the control group. The results of the oral dose of Portulaca oleracea + copper sulphate showed a positive effect for these values compared with the group given copper sulphate. The oral administration of copper sulphate causes satisfactory tissue changes in the liver and kidneys of male white rats. The tissue is Destruction (DS) around the central vein (CV) with the pool of inflammatory cells (IF) and the presence of congestion (CON) in the liver and the presence of Haemorrhage (H) Hayline cast (HYC) in some urinary tubules also shows a collection of inflammatory cells (IF) in the kidneys. And treatment with Portulaca oleracea +copper sulphate showed the return of hepatocytes (HC) and central vein (CV) to normal as can be seen Sinusoids (S). The renal Glomerulus (G) and proximal and distal urinary bulb (UT) were normal compared with the copper sulfate control group.
