A series of some 4-{[(Z)-(1,3-diphenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-yl)methylidene]amino}-5-methyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiols were synthesized by reaction of substituted 1,3-diphenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde with 4-amino-5-methyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol in acidic medium. The synthesized compounds were characterized by 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, IR and mass spectroscopic techniques. The products were obtained in high yield and were screened for antiinflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial activities against various pathogenic bacteria. Compound EP 8 (71.55%) and EP 10 (74.31 %) exhibited excellent anti-inflammatory activity while compound EP 5 (56.87 %) and EP 8 (52.50 %) exhibited good antioxidant activity. Molecular docking study exhibited the possible mode of action of synthesized derivatives by inhibition of DNA gyrase B.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
