The development of electronic power components has allowed the increase of the induction machine performance. Indeed, monitoring squirrel cage induction motors driven through rectifiers and inverters has been a major concern. This paper presents a new method to diagnose the combination inverter-machine faults. This technic considers an auxiliary winding which is a small coil inserted between two stator phases. It is based on Lissajous curve of this auxiliary winding voltage Park components. For this purpose, modeling the electromechanical conversion chain is necessary. The focus will particularly be on modeling both the squirrel cage induction machine and the inverter in a non-defected case which is a reference. Moreover, the explicit expressions developed for the inserted winding voltage and its Park components will be presented. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
The main objective of this paper is to present a test a single phase switched capacitor nine-level inverter for PV system applications, with a simple harmonic elimination method. The main elements of the used multilevel inverter are a high power switched capacitor DC-DC converter and a high power DC-AC converter. The studied system with the proposed control method was tested on MATLAB/SIMULINK with solar panels. Also, an experimental test bench was prepared and used to validate the simulation results. The all obtained results prove the high efficiency of the studied PV system with the implemented control method.
This paper presents the design and the implementation of a low-cost single phase five-level inverter for photovoltaic applications. The proposed multilevel inverter is composed of a simple boost converter, a switched-capacitor converter, and an H-bridge converter. An efficient control method which associates a closed-loop regulation method with a simple maximum power point tracking (MPPT) method is applied in order to allow the proposed multilevel inverter to transfer power energy from solar panels to autonomous load with no storage batteries. An experimental prototype of this inverter is fabricated at the laboratory and tested with a digital control system. Obtained results confirm the simplicity and the performance of the proposed photovoltaic system.
In the current paper, a method is developed to diagnose potential electrical defects attacking doubly fed induction generator in Moroccan wind turbines firms. The proposed method is based on stator and rotor currents Lissajous curves analysis. Firstly, we focus on modeling of a non-defected wind conversion systems based on mathematic model created in Matlab Simulink which is able to reflect the behaviour of the wind turbine during asynchronous generator defects-free operation. After that, an indirect stator field vector oriented control is applied to obtain the wind system performance. Finally, stator and rotor currents Lissajous curves are analyzed in case of a non-defected generator that represents the system reference curves for diagnosing defects. The simulations had been realized by Matlab Simulink. Their results showed the effectiveness of the proposed method.
