A survey was conducted in 2014/2015 to study distribution of plant parasitic nematodes associated with the different vegetables, field crops, fruit trees, weeds and some ornamental plants grown in Borg El-Arab and Amryia counties (sugar beet district), North West Egypt. Data indicated that twelve nematode genera and species were found at various percentages frequencies of occurrence and population densities according to host type and locality. The most predominant nematode genera were root-knot, Meloidogyne; stunt, Tylenchorhynchus; spiral, Helicotylenchus and reniform nematodes, Rotylenchulus reniformis as they were recovered at the highest percentages frequencies of occurrence and population densities.
Abstract:The tested rates of chitin (2, 4 and 8 g/m 2 ) significantly (p ≤ 0.05 and 0.01) reduced the number of galls, egg masses, females and the second stage juveniles (J 2 ) in oilseed rape cvAD201 under field conditions. The plant growth parameters as length and weight of shoots increased at all rates of chitin compared to the untreated check. When using abamectin at the concentrations of 500, 1000and 1500 ppm, it significantly (p ≤ 0.05) reduced the above listed nematode criteria and enhanced the plant growth criteria.
Survey was conducted in Giza, qualiabia and Behaira governorates of Egypt during 2010-2011 seasons, to study the occurrence and population density phytoparasitic nematodes associated with grapes (Vitis). A total number of 160 soil and root samples were collected from the rhizospher of six grape cultivars Bez-Alanza, Flame seedless, King Ruby, Romy Red, Superior and Thomoson seedless were collected by digging soils to a depth of 32-40 cm with stainless steel halftubes. The results indicated that the present of ten phytonematode genera, Criconemoides, Ditylenchus, Helicotylenchus, Hoplolaimus, Meloidogyne, Pratylenchus, Rotylenchulus, Tylenchorhynchus, Tylenchulus and Xiphinema. Frequency and population density of each nematode genera different according to grape cultivars and soil type. The root knot nematode (Meloidogyne) was prevalent nematode in all cultivars and localities it was present in 77.32% of total samples. Also root knot nematode (Meloidogyne) was frequent in (F.O=72.5%) than in clay soil (16.77%),while the citrus nematode (Tylenchulus) was more frequent in clay soil (66.71) than in sandy soil (0.67%).
Distribution and identification of phytonematodes associated with wheat grown in twelve provinces of Northern and Middle Egypt were investigated during two growing seasons (2016-2017 and 2017-2018). A total of 929 soil and root samples were collected from 119 localities (villages/farms) belonging to 37 districts. Samples contained fourteen nematode genera and species viz.,
