We intend to conduct a nationwide survey entitled 'Fertility after Chemo- and Radiotherapy in Paediatric and Adolescent Patients' (FeCt). The aim is to gain valuable data with a larger number of participants and more statistical power to determine whether specific cytotoxic drugs or radiation increase the risk of infertility, and if so, at what doses. For the study, the DKKR has the addresses of more than 5 000 former patients in Germany who are now adults. The results will be used to plan future treatment optimisation studies, and to assess the need for prophylactic measures in cases where fertility-compromising therapies are unavoidable. This nationwide survey 'FeCt' will be supported by the Deutsche Kinderkrebsstiftung.
In view of the increasing significance of allergic reactions of occupationaI origin, it is of importance that the practising allergists familiarize themselves with the problem involved. There are many sources of molds in our environment, apart from the airborne spores: in industry, agriculture, food production, and many other branches of men's occupations, which may evoke an allergic response in some exposed people.Mycology has developed recently as a special field of biological study and is today divided into separated entities such as pure mycology, concerning the field mycologist ; the taxonomy of molds ; medical, industrial, and agricultural mycology; and many others linked to the commonly known molds. The laboratory procedures and the culturing and identification methods have been recently enriched by a widely extensive literature a t our disposa1.l. 2, 3, On the other hand, the problem of occupational diseases requires an alertness on the part of the practising allergist who meets in his practice patients suffering from occupational allergies. Unfortunately, even in a great allergy-clinic, it is very difficult to make a survey of a greater number of occupational allergy cases, because they always appear sporadically, and i t is impossible to classify them in a statistical manner. The same problem arises in special departments of industrial diseases which are very well developed in this country.Among men's occupations of this century, one can hardly find one which remains free of any contact with molds. It goes without saying that the knowl-
