Abstract:Background: Nasal foreign bodies are a frequent accident to otolaryngologist especially in young children. They are generally harmless and can be managed easily in outpatient department but may become life threatening if it is overlooked or attempt at removal by unskilled hand.

Objective: To find out the prevalence, etiology, risk factor, presentation and treatment option of the dysphonic people, facilitate the prevention of the risk factor of it. Besides the common respiratory symptoms or viral pneumonia, COVID-19 is also presented with different neurological symptoms. Olfactory dysfunction (OD) or impairment of the sense of smell is one of the common neurological symptoms being reported in infection caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The severity varies from anosmia to microsmia or hyposmia. OD could have a potential early screening and diagnostic value besides other neurological and common respiratory symptoms. In our descriptive concise review, we aimed to elicit the manifestation of olfactory dysfunction as an early predictor of SARS-CoV-2 infection. We are also aiming to establish, OD as a quick and reliable assessment tool of COVID-19 risk, among the healthcare workers and contact tracers, which can justify self-quarantine of the person as well as recommendation for testing on a priority basis. We have also focused on, any effect to produce this symptom by the drug used for treatment in COVID-19, and if the old age of the patient showing any extra influence to develop OD in COVID-19.

Objectives: To determine the frequency of thyroid malignancy in clinically and sonographically solitary thyroid nodule in patients undergoing thyroidectomy in Comilla Medical College Hospital. Methods: A cross sectional study was carried out at the Department of Otolaryngology and Head Neck Surgery of Comilla Medical College Hospital during the period from January 2016 to January 2019. This study includes all patients admitted and undergoing surgery with solitary thyroid nodule. Results: Out of 188 patients 146 patients were female and 42 patients were male with female:male ratio of 3.4:1. Out of 188 patients 24 patients were found histologically thyroid malignancy. Among them 14 patients were male and 10 patients were female. Papillary carcinoma was found in all cases. Conclusions: Follicular carcinoma is rare in our country. Histopathological examiners may not efficiently be doing their job to differentiate carcinoma from adenoma.

Background: In the 17th and 18th centuries, Santorini and Wilhem Mayer described the adenoids. Enlarged adenoid or adenoids is a common disorder in children, not only compromise the natural pathway of breathing, but it also obstructs the nasopharyngeal opening of Eustachian tubes. As a result, retention of fluid in the middle ear cavity and the development of glue ear or otitis media with effusion (OME). If it happens, the children present with hearing loss, delayed speech and language, poor social behavior, and may with difficulties of balance. Methods: It is a cohort retrospective study of 251 cases in the Department of Otolaryngology and Head-Neck Surgery, Cumilla Medical College, and Cumilla Medical Centre, Bangladesh, from 01 July 2016 to 31 June 2019. Results: Incidence of adenoids with glue ear, out of total ENT routine operations was 3.54%, and adenoidectomy-tonsillectomy operations were 29.05%. Of them, the male was 102(40.64%), the female was 149(59.36%), 3-5 years were 83(33.07%), 6-10 years 107(42.63%), and 11-15 years 61(24.30%).
