Abstract:Es wurden die Extinktionskurven der komplexen Kobalti‐ionen: [Co(NH3)6]3‐, Coen3]3+, [Co(CN)6]3−, [CO(NH3)5S2O3]+, Coen2(S2O3)2]−, [Co(CN)5S2O3]4−, [Co(CN)4(SO3)2]5−, [Co(CN)5H2O]2− und [Co(CN)4(H2O)2]− im Wasser a;s Lösungsmittel bei Zimmertemperatur zwischen 200 und 700 mμ bestimmt.

Nach einem Überblick über ältere Deutungsversuche werden Ergebnisse quantentheoretischer Betrachtungen am Beispiel der Cr3+‐Komplexe dargestellt. Bekannte Spektren zwei‐ und dreiwertiger lonen werden vom Standpunkt der Theorie aus gedeutet. Die Komplexbildungstendenz läßt sich durch Erweiterungen der elementaren elektrostatischen Theorie verstehen.
