The role that the resources and capabilities of agricultural entrepreneurs play on both environmental performance (EP) and financial performance (FP) is still unclear. This study analyzes how small farms enhance EP and FP in an inland Portuguese region through the relationship between dynamic capabilities (DCs), entrepreneurial orientation (EO), and environmental sustainability commitment (ESC). Based on a sample of 160 fresh fruit farms and applying a partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM), our study concludes that EO and ESC influence EP and FP positively.Hence, farms can achieve competitive advantage through mitigating their profound impacts on the environment as proposed by the natural resource-based view (NRBV).Farms are also improving DCs, but farmers respond to the higher environmental requirements of agricultural markets primarily through research and development (R&D) capabilities and not through marketing capabilities. Having as theoretical supports the NRBV and the DCs, our study contributes to a better understanding of the mechanisms through which entrepreneurs enhance EP and FP in sectors with high environmental impacts such as agriculture. The findings suggest that entrepreneurship training projects may enable farmers to approach food security as a market opportunity and not only as rules they must follow.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to describe cosmetics purchase behavior of young, educated Muslim females in Malaysia and to explore its relationship with certain potential antecedents. Design/methodology/approach This study uses a survey on a sample of female consumers from four higher education institutions in the urban area of Bangi Selangor, Malaysia. From their respective institutions, 150 respondents were selected through the purposive sampling method. Self-administered questionnaire has been used to gather information from the respondents. The survey data were analyzed using descriptive, t-test and correlation analyses to accomplish the study objectives. Findings The study indicates that millennial Muslim cosmetic purchase behavior falls under the “Limited Decision Making” classification. The classification is due to the pattern of pro-active behaviors exhibit through the information search for details about ingredients, halal clue, countries of origin, health safety guarantee and the benefits of the cosmetic products. Young, educated female consumers adore branded cosmetic items and show willingness to accept higher prices for the branded items. Despite brand consciousness, they demonstrate a relatively high concern on the halalness of the product. Based on the correlation analysis, all variables were found to be significant and the most significant of them was brand. Research limitations/implications Millennial consumers are information technology savvy and have access to vast information about products. As a result, the findings reiterate that millennial consumers demonstrate different purchase behavior, which is worth exploring by future researchers. In addition, other latent antecedents such as religiosity and world view are worth including in future studies. Practical implications Cosmetic manufacturers and marketers must ensure that their products signal positive images to fit the expectations of young and educated Muslim consumers. Although brand conscious, such consumers demonstrate prudent behavior in terms of searching for halalan and toyyiban products. Originality/value This study adds value in the area of halal product marketing because of two unique focuses. First, it examines the purchase of cosmetic products, which are relatively understudied compared to halal food. Second, it considers the perspectives of educated Muslim millennials, who are expected to demonstrate more specific purchase behaviors than a generalized millennial group. Therefore, the originality of this study revolves around the consideration of these two aspects, which are relevant to contemporary business marketing discussions.

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of entrepreneurship learning models based on social missions to advance entrepreneurial interest in vocational high school students. Experimental research use as a method, with 72 students participating in Class XII of SMK Negeri 1 Kudus. Data collection using questionnaires and learning outcomes. Data analysis using ANOVA and Scheffe test. The results showed that student learning outcomes with social mission learning models and conventional learning models have differences, where the social mission learning model is more useful to improve student learning outcomes and entrepreneurial interest. More than that, the social mission-based entrepreneurship learning model is needed in the curriculum. Entrepreneurship training through social mission will prepare students to become entrepreneurs, in addition to being more concerned about the environment and society. Future research needs to focus more on studying entrepreneurship learning curricula in vocational high schools. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran kewirausahaan berdasarkan misi sosial untuk memajukan minat kewirausahaan pada siswa sekolah menengah kejuruan. Penelitian eksperimen digunakan sebagai metode, dengan partisipan sebanyak 72 siswa Kelas XII SMK Negeri 1 Kudus. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan hasil belajar. Analisis data menggunakan ANOVA dan uji Scheffe. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa dengan model pembelajaran social mission dan model pembelajaran konvensional memiliki perbedaan, di mana model pembelajaran social mission lebih efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar dan minat berwirausaha siswa. Lebih dari itu, model pembelajaran kewirausahaan berbasis social mission sangat diperlukan dalam kurikulum. Pelatihan berwirausaha melalui social mission akan mempersiapkan siswa tertarik menjadi wirausaha, di samping lebih peduli terhadap lingkungan dan masyarakat. Penelitian yang akan datang, perlu lebih fokus mengkaji kurikulum pembelajaran kewirausahaan di SMK.
