WHEAT Triticum L.) CULTIVARS FROM GRIN COLLECTION (USA) SELECTED FOR DURABLE RESISTANCE TO Septoria tritici AND Stagonospora nodorum BLOTCH

Abstract: A b s t r a c tSeptoria tritici blotch (STB) or Stagonospora nodorum blotch (SNB) are among the most harmful and economically significant diseases of wheat in the grain growing regions of the world, especially in the countries with a temperate climate. In epiphytotic years the losses from the disease can reach 30-40 %. In Russia the diseases holds a dominant position in a pathogenic complex of fungus diseases of grain crops. In this paper we first determined the parameters of partial resistance in the cultivar… Show more

“…The revived interest in spelt can be attributed to the high nutritional value of its grain, which is rich in protein, macronutrients and micronutrients [38][39][40][41][42][43][44][45], resistance to fungal pathogens [18,[46][47][48][49][50][51], and higher adaptability to varied environments and simplified farming systems in comparison to bread wheat [52][53][54]. The milling quality of spelt grain has been recently investigated by Wiwart et al, Rapp et al,and Sobczyk et al [44,45,55].…”

“…Resistance to Septoria blotch can be either quantitative (horizontal) or isolate-specific (vertical) (Tyryshkin, Ershova, 2004;Kolomiets et al, 2017). Currently, 17 genes of resistance to S. tritici (Stb1-Stb17) have been identified in wheat.…”

“…Currently, 17 genes of resistance to S. tritici (Stb1-Stb17) have been identified in wheat. Due to genetic analysis in the "wheat-M. graminicola" pathosystem, geneforgene interaction has been proven (Kolomiets et al, 2017). Recent studies have established some biochemical mechanisms of resistance of common wheat to Septoria blotch (Veselova et al, 2018(Veselova et al, , 2019.…”

“…Потери урожая от септориоза в годы эпифитотий достигают 20-40 % [4]. Внедрение в производство длительно устойчивых сортов пшеницы зависит от успехов селекции на устойчивость к этой болезни, и прежде всего от наличия исходного материала [5].…”
