Introduction: The fertility pattern of Brazilian population has changed considerably in the last decades. Socioeconomic and cultural inequalities can influence the age of the first gestation, and the identification of these inequalities is a fundamental aspect of the monitoring and evaluation of women's health care policies. Objective: To analyze the age of women in their first gestation and the related factors in Brazil. Methods: A cross-sectional study using data from the National Health Survey 2013, analyzing women aged 18 to 49 years and their age in the first gestation, categorized by sociodemographic variables. Results: The North Region presented the highest percentage of pregnancy for the stratum of 10 to 14 years. The first pregnancy at the age of 15 to 19 years had the highest percentages for all regions, with a significant difference between the North and Southeast. The Southeast region obtained the highest percentage of the first pregnancy at the age of 30 to 39 years. The first pregnancy at the age of 15 to 19 years was significantly higher among the separated women; without instruction; and who live in rural areas. The first pregnancy of 10 to 14 was associated with the highest number of births that women will have throughout their lives, with a higher prevalence of 5 to 9 births. Conclusions: In Brazil, a large proportion of first pregnancies still occur in adolescence. The states of the northern region stand out with lower average ages in the first pregnancy, and this event is related to the worst socioeconomic conditions.

Este estudo objetivou investigar o perfil dos nascimentos ocorridos no estado de Goiás entre 2005 e 2015, entre mães adolescentes com idades entre 10 e 19 anos. Foi realizado um estudo descritivo transversal e retrospectivo. A coleta de dados secundários ocorreu por meio de dados disponíveis no site do Departamento de Informática do Sistema Único de Saúde (Datasus). Os resultados mostraram que durante o período de 2005 a 2015, houve um total de 199.983 nascimentos entre mães com idades de 10 a 19 anos. O maior registro de nascimentos para mães adolescentes ocorreu em 2005. Foi detectado que 53% das adolescentes goiana apresentavam entre 8 e 11 anos de escolaridade. Dentre os 10 municípios goianos com os maiores taxas de nascimentos entre adolescentes, o município de Goiânia teve a maior incidência, 32.600 nascimentos entre 2005 e 2015. A maior parte das mães com idades entre 10 e 19 anos estavam respectivamente solteiras quando o parto ocorreu. 86% dessas adolescentes tiveram o período gestacional compreendido entre 37 e 41 semanas. Entre 2005 e 2015 houve também um percentual de 4% de nascimentos com crianças que apresentaram anomalia congênita.

Objective: to uncover the repercussions of pregnancy during adolescence on the life of women in adulthood. Methods: a qualitative study performed in a Basic Health Unit. Individual data were collected and recorded with seven women for data collection. For the organization of the data, the Thematic Categories Analysis was adopted. Results: three categories emerged: recalling the experiences of pregnancy in adolescence, positive and negative repercussions of teenage pregnancy in the view of women and rescuing knowledge about contraceptive methods in adolescence. Conclusion: the pregnancy occurred in adolescence had positive repercussions when reporting the development of responsibility and maturity, the constitution of a family, and being a mother. As for the negative aspects, the following were observed: the non-completion of the studies; fear of having another child; responsibility; difficulty in reaching plans for the future.
