Wacana Pemberitaan Diskriminasi Terhadap Muslim Uyghur di Republika.co.id dan Kompas.com

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji wacana tentang pelaporan diskriminasi terhadap Muslim Uyghur di Republika.co.id dan Kompas.com. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan Analisis Wacana Kritis Roger Fowler. Hasilnya menemukan bahwa Republika.co.id lebih cenderung menunjukkan peristiwa di Xinjiang sebagai diskriminasi terkait agama, menggunakan pertarungan wacana. Sementara itu, Kompas.com lebih cenderung menunjukkan peristiwa di Xinjiang sebagai tindakan pelanggaran HAM yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah Tiongkok terhadap Uyghur, menggunakan klasifikasi, pembatasan pandangan, dan pertarungan wacana. Nilai-nilai ideologis yang terkandung dalam Republika.co.id menekankan hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan Islam, sementara Kompas.com lebih menekankan pada sisi manusia. Wacana dan nilai-nilai ideologis yang ditampilkan dalam pelaporan diskriminasi terhadap Muslim Uyghur di Republika.co.id dan Kompas.com adalah hasil konstruksi realitas yang dilakukan oleh dua media, di mana proses pembentukan makna melalui bahasa dipengaruhi oleh ideologi. dari Republika.co.id dan Kompas.com digunakan sebagai dasar dalam menyusun dan menyajikan berita. Dalam hal ini, Republika.co.id menyajikan berita berdasarkan ideologi Islam, sedangkan Kompas.com mengandalkan ideologi humanisme.This study aims to examine the discourse on reporting discrimination against Uyghur Muslims on Republika.co.id and Kompas.com. The study employs a qualitative approach and Roger Fowler's Critical Discourse Analysis. The findings show that Republika.co.id is more likely to show events in Xinjiang as discrimination related to religion, using discourse battles. Meanwhile, Kompas. com is more likely to show events in Xinjiang as acts of human rights violations committed by the Chinese government against Uyghurs, using classification, limitation of views, and discourse battles. The ideological values contained in Republika.co.id emphasize matters relating to Islam, while Kompas.com places more emphasis on humanity. The ideological discourse and values displayed in reporting the discrimination against Uyghur Muslims in Republika.co.id and Kompas.com are the results of the constructions of reality carried out by the two media, where the process of forming meanings through language is influenced by the ideologies of Republika.co.id and Kompas.com which are used as a foundation in compiling and presenting news. In this case, Republika.co.id presents news based on Islamic ideology, while Kompas.com relies on the ideology of humanism.
