Virucidal activity of Moringa A from Moringa oleifera seeds against Influenza A Viruses by regulating TFEB

Abstract: Background In uenza A viruses (IAVs) are highly contagious pathogens infecting human and numerous animals. The viruses cause millions of infection cases and thousands of deaths every year, thus making IAVs a continual threat to global health. Methods Moringa A was isolated from Moringa oleifera seeds and tested for antiviral activity against H1N1. The antiviral activity of Moringa A was tested by checking their effect on hemagglutination and PFU activities of the studied virus, and the cytopathic effect was ob… Show more

“…Its leaves, owers and fresh pods can be consumed as vegetables as well as utilized as livestock feed, making it valuable from the food security point of view (Anjorin et al, 2010). Reportedly, Moringa leaves are endowed with β-carotene, protein, vitamin C, calcium and potassium and act as a good source of natural antioxidants such as avonoids, phenolics and carotenoids (Mehwish et al, 2021;Xiong et al, 2021;Daghaghele et al, 2021). On the other hand, various parts of the horseradish tree such as the leaves, root, bark, seed, owers, and immature pods are found to have medicinal properties.…”

“…moringa seeds are known to contain antibacterial compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, and tannins [4] [25]. Based on these contents, moringa seeds have the potential to be used as an active antibacterial ingredient [26]. However, not many studies have used Moringa seed extract as an active ingredient, especially liquid soap.…”
