This study investigated patterns of perpetration and perceptions of teen dating violence (TDV) in a sample of 428 adolescents characterized as perpetrators (62.4% female, M=16.73 years of age, SD=1.20) from the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre, state of Rio Grande do Sul (RS), Brazil. There was also a comparison group of 132 non-perpetrators (51.5% female, M=16.54 years of age, SD=1.19). The research instruments were a sociodemographic questionnaire, 15 items about the perception of TDV and the Conflict in Adolescent Dating Relationships Inventory (CADRI). We found a rate of 76.43% for the perpetration of some type of TDV and the most frequent was verbal/emotional violence (91.1%). The data showed that adolescents (perpetrators and non-perpetrators) have difficulty recognizing abusive behaviors, legitimizing the use of violence in their romantic relationships. Considering dating violence is a predictor of adult marital violence, the need to raise awareness of the phenomenon and the possibility of preventing TDV is discussed in this study.

Objetivou-se analisar, à luz da categoria gênero, as concepções de relacionamentos afetivo-sexuais entre jovens a partir da interação em um jogo on line que ambienta as temáticas sexo, sexualidade e violência. Trata-se de um estudo de caso, de abordagem qualitativa, que realizou a análise dos comentários discursivos, produzidas a partir da interação com o jogo Papo Reto. Constituíram sujeitos do estudo, estudantes de uma escola pública de São Paulo-SP. A análise fundamentou-se na categoria gênero e revelou que os relacionamentos entre jovens constituem parte de um contexto de relações influenciadas por modelos e normas de gênero que configuram iniquidades, determinantes tanto da violência quanto da sua invisibilidade enquanto problema. A ambivalência de significados que a violência assume nas relações de intimidade traduz-se em discursos de superação e, ao mesmo tempo, de reiteração de estereótipos e iniquidades de gênero.

Objective: to identify and analyze the perceptions and practices of health professionals and of the third sector regarding adolescence and violence between intimate adolescent partners. Method: an exploratory and descriptive study. Data was collected in two sessions of a Critical-Emancipatory Work Workshop carried out with 55 professionals who work in Primary Health Care services and services related to the third sector. Data was submitted to content analysis with the support of the WebQDA software. The categories of analysis used were gender and generation. Results: the perceptions and practices in the face of violence between intimate adolescent partners are based on common sense and subjugate female adolescents in particular. In the health services, violence is perceived during consultations for other demands, under the biomedical paradigm. Third sector professionals understand the confrontation of violence as a responsibility of the health area. Conclusion: negative and stereotyped conceptions of violence between intimate adolescent partners are marked by gender and generation biases. The study highlights the need to promote networking actions in the professional practices that consider the historical and social understanding of adolescence to cope with the problem.
