First aid given by laypersons in trauma cases has more mistakes. Injuries that occur require appropriate treatments. First aid education is part of health promotion. First aid guideline application (FAG) is a new education method. This study aimed to analyze the difference in students' knowledge, attitude and skill improvement in first aid by using FAG application. The study design used quasy experiments using control and experimental group. Research location was in SMP Negeri 2 Jember. There were 120 respondents taken by purposive sampling technique with two groups. Data analysis used independent t-test. Statistic analysis using independent t-test. Variables of knowledge obtained the p-value = 0.008, meaning there is a significant increase of knowledge after getting first aid education by using the application of FAG. The attitude variable got a p-value = 0,023, meaning that there is significant attitude improvement after getting first aid education by using the application of FAG. Skill variable found that p-value = 0,035 meaning that there is significant skill improvement after getting first aid education by applying FAG. There are differences in variables of knowledge, attitudes and skills among Junior High School students between the intervention and control groups.

Objectives In Indonesia, the prevalence of injuries among children aged 5–14 years is high. Such injuries are generally caused by unsafe school-related factors and a lack of education about first aid. Thus, it is necessary to optimize the role of children by introducing first aid education using the First Aid Guideline (FAG) application. The purpose of this study was to develop a first aid education application for Indonesian children based on the Android operating system. Methods The application was developed in several stages. The initial stage was the selection of the content that would be included in the application. The second and third stages were the making and testing of the application, respectively. The researchers worked with information technology experts during the development of this application. The application feasibility test included experts in the fields of emergency and medical-surgical medicine as well as information technology. The experts assessed the application by completing a questionnaire on learning media. The results were then analysed by kappa tests to assess the experts' perceptions. Results The application contains emergency call menus, and information on the treatment of choking, burns, wounds, and bleeding. The application provides pictures and video tutorials, making it easier for users to learn about first aid. Statistical analysis showed a sufficient match between Experts 1 and 3 (mean 3.85 ± SD 0.369; kappa = 0.615; p = 0.035) and Experts 1 and 2 (mean 3.85 ± SD 0.369; kappa = 0.615; p = 0.035). Experts 2 and 3 showed good suitability (mean 3.80 ± SD 0.422; kappa = 0.615; p = 0.035). Conclusions FAG is a breakthrough application for first aid education for children aged 11–14 years. This application can be used as a medium for learning about first aid. However, further research in larger populations is required.

Perawatan luka post operasi di ruang ICU membutuhkan perhatian dan pengetahuan yang tepat, terutama dari keluarga pasien yang sering terlibat dalam merawat luka. Dalam rangka meningkatkan pengetahuan keluarga dalam melakukan perawatan luka post operasi di ruang ICU. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan keluarga tentang perawatan luka post operasi. Kegiatan ini terdiri dari persiapan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Kegiatan diikuti oleh 22 peserta yaitu keluarga pasien di Ruang ICU, yang dilaksanakan pada Oktober 2022. Metode yang digunakan yaitu edukasi dengan pre-post test untuk mengetahui perubahan pengetahuan setelah dilakukan edukasi. Kuesioner terdiri dari 15 pertanyaan yang berisi tentang perawatan luka, perawatan personal hygiene, pengenalan tanda-tanda infeksi, dan pentingnya nutrisi yang baik. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat didapatkan peningkatkan pengetahuan rata-rata mencapai 59,35% dengan rata-rata nilai post test 91,13. Program edukasi ini memiliki dampak positif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan keluarga dalam merawat luka post operasi di ruang ICU. Dengan pengetahuan yang diperoleh, keluarga pasien dapat berperan aktif dalam perawatan luka, meningkatkan keberhasilan penyembuhan pasien, dan mengurangi risiko infeksi
