Objective is to analyze the economic feasibility of implementing a greenhouse in a hydroponics production system in substrate (sand) on a small family farm as an alternative to hydroponic cultivation using nutrient film technique (NFT). This case study was carried out in the Municipality of Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul state, Brazil. The location was specifically selected because of the importance of agricultural activities and the need for productive diversification related to the context of the small rural producer. As a criterion for assessing economic viability, the techniques of net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), modified internal rate of return (MIRR), cost–benefit (C/B), profitability index (PI), equivalent annual value (EAV) and discounted payback (DP) were under consideration. A minimum attractiveness rate adjusted to the risk of emerging countries of 10.25% per year was considered. The viability of the project was verified, even when exposed to risk and uncertainty. Leaf kale is a crop that is widely consumed today due to the new ways of using it in cooking and its nutritional properties. However, the crop has a high requirement for nitrogen fertilization, so the excessive application of mineral fertilizers causes environmental impacts. Considering the importance of kale and its high nutritional requirement, the objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of organomineral fertilization on the development of kale cv. Butter. The treatments were distributed in randomized blocks, in a 2x4 factorial scheme, referring to two sources of nitrogen (urea and cattle manure) and four doses of fertilizers (0, 50, 100 and 150% of the dose of 120 kg ha-1 of nitrogen ) with three replications and during two growing seasons. The sources used were urea and bovine manure. Plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, stem diameter, fresh and dry mass of shoots were analyzed. The organomineral fertilization positively influenced the development of the aerial part. Cultivation season 1 favored the increase of the evaluated variables with a lower percentage of organomineral used. Greater number of leaves was achieved by using 150% (higher dose) of fertilizers in season 2.

O Brasil é o maior produtor e exportador de café do mundo, e uma das consequências dessa vasta produção é o volume elevado de resíduos gerados durante a produção do café. Mesmo depois de cerca de 150 anos de história da cafeicultura no país, ainda são escassas as pesquisas e levantamentos de dados acerca da geração de tais resíduos, uma vez que, o foco das pesquisas nacionais tem maior direcionamento para outros temas relacionados à cafeicultura. Nesse sentido, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo identificar e analisar artigos científicos, publicados nos anos de 2006 a 2022 em periódicos indexados, com temática relacionada aos impactos gerados no meio ambiente pelos resíduos físicos e químicos oriundos das fases de implantação e condução, colheita e pós-colheita do café. Sendo este estudo realizado por meio de revisão sistemática da literatura e revisão integrativa de literatura. Foram selecionados dezenove artigos, utilizando as seguintes palavras-chave em português e suas respectivas traduções para a língua inglesa: água residuária (wastewater); cafeicultura (coffee planting); compostagem (composting); compostos químicos (chemical composts); resíduos líquidos (liquid residues); resíduos sólidos (solid residues); resíduos vegetais (crop residues); viabilidade econômica (economic viability); e sustentabilidade (sustainability).
