“…A direct visual examination shows that the film formed on copper electrode by VTA is more compact and homogeneous than those formed by STA and ATA. VTA molecules contain dual functional phenyl-head with both ether and hydroxyl groups, which are in favour of chelating adsorption on the copper surface by offering a larger dentate density for adsorption [41]. This result is well consistent with the ranking of inhibition efficiency obtained from polarization curve and EIS measurements.…”

“…Due to the presence of amine double bond, the Schiff bases can form stable complexes which are closely packed in the coordination sphere of metal ions for corrosion inhibition [38][39][40]. As a derivative of Schiff bases, acylhydrazone compounds can act as ditopic ligands, and show the potential to form multi-adsorption structures with metal atoms [41,42]. A number of transition metal complexes of acylhydrazones have been reported to exhibit remarkable corrosion inhibition [43,44].…”

“…The Schiff base ligands form stable complexes closely packed in the coordination sphere of metal ion to generate another class of compounds for corrosion inhibition. [20][21][22] The inhibitors work on the metal surface through the adsorption mechanism. The adsorption of an organic compound depends on the number of functional groups taking part.…”

“…Most of the complexes show considerable corrosion inhibition property while one polymeric cadmium azide complex has shown the maximum inhibition efficiency, which is quite good in comparison with other metal complex reported earlier. 10,11,13,20,27,31 The corrosion inhibition efficiency was studied by electrochemical methods and protection of metal surface by Cd(II) complexes was shown by FE-SEM images. Nuclearity driven corrosion inhibition trend of Cd(II) complexes was further corroborated by quantum chemical calculations.…”
