Variations in response of determinate common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)genotypes to arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) inoculation

Abstract: This study evaluated seedling traits (shoot/root length, fresh and dry weights of shoots/roots, number of leaves, shoot diameter), phosphorus (P) content, mycorrhizal colonization (MC), and relative mycorrhizal dependency (RMD) of 21 common bean genotypes inoculated by 4 different arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) [Glomus intraradices (Gi), Glomus mosseae (Gm), Gigaspora margarita (Gim), and commercial AMF (cAMF)] in a growth chamber under controlled growing conditions. With the exception of shoot diameter, i… Show more

“…They also confer robustness to plants and they improve crop yields (Beaudin et al 2008;Grant et al 2014;Jan et al 2014;Tshibangu et al 2020b). AMF thus improves uptake of immobilized plant nutrients, especially P (Erdinc et al 2017). The aim of this study was to assess the effects of AMF inoculum on P assimilation by maize and its impact on maize growth and productivity on an acidic and deficient in available phosphorus Ferralsols.…”

“…Arbuscular Mycorrhizae Fungi (AMF) are also known to infect a wide range of plant species. This impressive biodiversity revealed by mycorrhizae association shows the importance of biological processes on our earth planet (Erdinc et al, 2017).…”
