analYsis of Genetic distance Between access of the Gender Psidium BY ROUTE MARKERS ISSRaBstract-The objective of this study was to evaluate the genetic distance among 37 accessions of cultivated species Psidium guajava, L. (guava) and Araçás to the genus Psidium to the germplasm colection of the Universidade Estadual Norte Fluminense (UENF) by ISSR molecular markers. In the 17 selected markers, 216 polymorphic bands were obtained. By UPGMA method there was the formation of five main clusters. Accessions of araçá species, P. cattleyanum Sabine, were allocated in groups I and II. In group II was observed within the species P cattleyanum, closer to the guava. In group III was allocated the genotypes of the species P. guineense Sw (araçá-do-campo) and among the araçás, was the most closest to the guava. The guava genotypes were allocated to Group IV and V, confirming their high divergence. Molecular markers were efficient in evaluating intra and interspecific genetic distance for these species.

Approximately 80-90% of cultivated grassland areas in Brazil are covered by Urochloa brizantha [syn. Brachiaria brizantha (Hochst. ex A. Rich.) Stapf.]. Some genotypes of Urochloa have being widely used with a wrong nomenclature, like species and cultivars. In this way, the Urochloa cultivar identification is primordial for breeding programs and seed production. Considering the importance of genetic purity in commercialized seed lots, the present work aimed to evaluate the use of inter-simple sequence repeat (ISSR) markers in six cultivars of U. brizantha (Xaraés; Piatã; Basilisk; MG4; MG5 and Marandu) to discriminate and determine the contamination in seed batches. Results showed that it is possible to discriminate all cultivar with only two primers in pure samples. Basilisk was confirmed as a U. brizantha cultivar. ISSR markers showed a low polymorphism level. It was not possible to separate samples intentionally contaminated even at 5%.

Caracterização genética de mulungu (Erythrina velutinaWilldPalavras-chave: Genética vegetal. Mulungu. ABSTRACT -The coral tree (Erythrina velutina Willd.), popularly known in Brazil as mulungu, presents various pharmacological properties and although extremely scarce, can be found in regions of the State of Sergipe, Brazil. Due to economic interests, producing information in order to set up plans for its conservation and sustainable exploitation becomes essential. The objective of this work was to characterize individuals of Erythrina velutina by means of ISSR markers. In order to do this, 40 individuals were studied from three locations in the State of Sergipe (The town of Pinhão -Caatinga; The towns of Santana do San Francisco and São Cristóvão -Atlantic Forest). In total, 149 loci from 11 ISSR primers were obtained and evaluated. The minimum number of loci for the study of diversity in E. velutina was 117, agreeing with Kruskal's stress value. Spatial genetic structuring is seen in the population from Santana, but the population from Pinhão lacks this structuring; its individuals are distributed randomly, compromising sustainability over time and therefore requiring immediate action for its conservation and restoration.
