Na atual economia, o conhecimento se destaca como recurso fundamental na geração de valor, sustentabilidade e sucesso para as organizações, tornando-se necessário um sistema de gestão para este conhecimento (SGC). Neste contexto, surge a ISO 30401, publicada em 2018, que traz diretrizes para implantação de um SGC, impulsionando a eficiência e a geração de valor por meio do conhecimento. Sendo assim, este artigo tem o objetivo de compreender a percepção das lideranças da primeira organização certificada pela Norma ISO 30401:2018 no Brasil, quanto à implementação e manutenção da certificação. Para tanto, foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica e um estudo de caso, utilizando da abordagem qualitativa, e de pesquisa descritiva e aplicada, por meio de uma entrevista semiestruturada. Os resultados da pesquisa demonstram que a implantação e manutenção desta norma ISO trazem benefícios como o aumento da credibilidade da organização no mercado e a manutenção da memória organizacional e alguns desafios, especialmente às lideranças, como a demanda de tempo para atender todas exigências em paralelo à demanda de trabalho.

As the new digital era is accompanied by accelerating change, people as well as institutions need to adapt and transform. Crucial for their success is how well leaders can cultivate the absorption and sharing of knowledge as a resource and its integration into the organisational endeavours. Innovative system designs may prove vital to providing crucial support. Based on a prior academic design science research project and published outputs, a recently established start-up aims to create a digital community platform for knowledge co-creation to serve members with diverse ambitions and potentials in their personal and collaborative contexts. The digital platform ecosystem follows a novel knowledge management approach by favouring personalization, mobility, generativity, and entropy reduction. How to sustainably address the inherent system complexities and scaling needs in an entrepreneurial environment known for short iterative cycles of minimum viable developments have proven to be an expected challenge, closely followed by the limited power of academic detail and lingo to create enthusiasm in start-up spaces where attention slots are measured in pitch decks and elevator rides. This paper looks at this particular case and at the lessons learnt in the transition phase from academia to a business incubation space and, hence, aims to contribute to the discourse between scholars, practitioners, and clients on how digital entrepreneurship and innovation spaces may be best served for mutual benefit.

The EFQM excellence model, the knowledge management process and the corresponding results: an explanatory and predictive study

This study aims to analyse the relationships among the EFQM model, the knowledge management (KM) process and the corresponding results. It also seeks to analyse the predictive power of the phases of the KM process with regard to organisational results. The sample under study is composed of 113 Spanish organisations that feature some kind of Excellence Recognition System granted by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM). This paper uses partial least squares (PLS) path modelling to test and validate the research model and the proposed hypotheses. In addition, thorough analyses are conducted to assess the model’s predictive performance. The results show that organisations that use the management framework proposed by the EFQM model implement the phases of the KM process efficiently. Moreover, the synergies resulting from the simultaneous implementation of the EFQM model and the KM process contribute to improving the corresponding results. Also, the predictive power of the phases of the KM process is confirmed in terms of their ability to anticipate the results that the organisation will be able to achieve with respect to customers, people, society and key business factors. Finally, this study provides empirical evidence of the direct and indirect relationships among the EFQM model, the KM process and the corresponding results. In addition, the paper identifies out-of-sample prediction as an integral element of the evaluation of the model using PLS-SEM and as a way to evaluate its practical relevance, since it allows us to predict results.
