It is to determine the perception of the gifted students who participate to "Science and Art Center" about "Physical Education Course" and "Physical Education Teachers" via metaphors. The working group of the research consists of 48 students who participate Science and Art Center in 2014-2015 school years. Among the purposive sampling methods, criterion sampling method is used in choosing the working group. In the research, among the qualitative research approaches, phenomenological design is used. The data is gathered by semi-structured metaphor form and gathered data have been subjected to content analysis. It was seen that, toward the physical education, they described it in a way that includes positive qualifications as a good lecture, a mean of freedom, a source of life, an educating activity, a competition area and a natural event. It was determined that generally the students' perception towards physical education teachers are positive and they are described as a mentor, compassionate, fun, capable, knowing, hard-working and strong. It can be said that the students see the physical education more as a mean to have fun, to have great time and to move freely. The physical education teacher is also described as a mentor, compassionate and fun person.

From an early age, it is very important to encourage children to enjoy sports and to make sports. The awareness and habits gained in the early years of life affect life in the following years. Illustrated children's books are important for early childhood children to gain interest, curiosity and awareness towards an area. Sports and sports-specific elements are among the habits that should be given to children at a young age. The aim of this study is to determine the sport elements in the children's books. For this purpose, the research was designed with a case study pattern of qualitative research approaches. Criterion sampling technique was used in the study. Thirty books with 3-6 years old child development characteristics and the subject of which are direct sports are included in the study group. Document analysis technique was used in data analysis. In the research, it has been determined that books related to different sports branches, sports materials are depicted, sports-specific concepts are mentioned and technical and tactical information is presented. In the sections where sporting competitions take place, are depicted such as fairness / fair competition, fairness, benevolence and ability to tolerate winning-loss values. The processing of sports in illustrated children's books will be effective in the positive attitudes of children in this age of development towards sports.

Metaphorical Perceptions of Folk Dances Trainers Regarding the Concept of Folk Dances

This research was carried out with the help of metaphor to determine the perception of folk dances trainers regarding the concept of folk dances. The study was carried out with a total of 141 folk dances trainers (85 men and 56 women), who depend on the Folk Dances Federation of Turkey.In the study, a semi-structured interview form was used to allow participants to freely express their opinions on the specific subject. In this context, each participant was asked to write a metaphor about the concept of folk dances and to explain it. To determine the metaphorical perceptions of the concept of ‘‘folk dances’‘ the trainers were asked to complete such clauses as “folk dances are like….” and “Because ...”.In this study, phenomenological design was used from qualitative research approaches. In the analysis of data, content analysis technique was used. Frequency and percent values were calculated. The opinions of an in-field expert and an out-of-field expert were consulted as a reliability procedure. As a result of the calculation, the reliability of the research was calculated as %98.5.According to the study findings, it is seen that the trainers expressed their opinions on 86 types of metaphors that are divided into 12 conceptual categories for the concept of “folk dances” and 141 views for this. The category in which maximum exists is metaphor of “Happiness, Excitement and Energy Aspect” and the most used the words were found to be “love” (f=8), “ambition” (f=5), “life” (f=5) and “adaptation” (f=5). In addition, it is observed that trainers form metaphors with many concrete tools and abstract concepts such as “labour, gain, stress ball, serotonin, culture, umbrella, pen” regarding the concept of folk dances.As a result, it was determined that the most used metaphor for folk dances is “love” and that the category the most produced by the trainers is “happiness, excitement and energy aspect” and that the trainers have a positive perception in the metaphors produced by the “folk dances” concept.
