“…Our meetings with members of the four collectives analyzed took place spontaneously as we wandered in the city (Careri, 2013; Fernandes and Herschmann, 2015). Borrowing the notion of wandering from the “situationists” of the 1950s–1960s (Debord, 1960), “drift” is considered an instrument in the pursuit of alterity (Jacques, 2012) and a methodological strategy (Fernandes and Herschmann, 2015; Pereira, Rett, and Miranda, 2021) for an ethnography of the city as a dynamic space that is updated daily from intelligible and sensible interactions in the experience of a body with playful, uncertain, subjective, sensory, and affective dimensions.
