There is a consensus that employers, when recruiting, look for future employees to have a certain required profile. This profile consists of a set of skills that are considered crucial for the correct performance of the tasks that the employees will be performing. It is usually easy to identify which hard skills employers require, but it is not so easy to find out which soft skills employees should have. In addition to this difficulty, there is the possibility that higher education institutions may not be preparing students to align with employers’ envisioned skill sets. As part of the European Project “Think4Jobs” (2020-1-EL01-KA203-078797), an exploratory study was conducted to understand whether higher education institutions develop, and employers demand, individuals with the same profiles and to characterise these profiles. For this purpose, eight directors of different higher education programmes and six employers were interviewed. The information from the interviews was processed using the content analysis technique with the support of the NVivo data analysis software. The findings indicate that both educators and employers acknowledge the significance of soft skills, assigning them higher importance than hard skills, and the necessity of coordination between the two skill sets. Respondents also emphasised the importance of training, with course directors focusing more on initial training, while employers highlighted in-job training. Motivation, creativity, interpersonal relationships, communication, initiative and critical thinking were the skills identified by both groups as essential to an employee’s profile.

In this article, the didactic interventions of a future physics teacher are analyzed during the joint construction, with the group of students, of school scientific explanations of everyday phenomena in a secondary education classroom. The work aims to contribute to an under-researched territory, related to how teachers guide the construction of explanations in science classrooms. A case study focused on qualitative methodology was used, using thematic content analysis. Transcripts, class diaries and working sessions between residents and teachers were analyzed. An initial category system was built that was expanded inductively. A typology of discursive strategies used by the future teacher was developed, which includes strategies to promote conceptualization at different levels of representation of matter and meta-explanatory strategies to explicate aspects of the structure of explanations.

Este artigo tem como objetivo apresentar uma reflexão teórico-metodológica sobre as possibilidades e os limites para o uso da ferramenta Qualitative Data Analysis (QDA) ATLAS.ti em conjunto com a metodologia de Análise Textual Discursiva (ATD). Para isso, serão relacionadas ao software: as etapas, o ciclo iterativo e as relações hermenêuticas e dialéticas da ATD. A fim de exemplificar e validar o objetivo proposto, será descrito o processo de análise de uma pesquisa qualitativa, exploratória e descritiva, a partir de entrevistas semiestruturadas com seis professores da educação básica, cujos dados foram processados e tratados a partir de dois ciclos iterativos da ATD, por meio do ATLAS.ti. As discussões apresentadas indicam que o software possibilita uma melhor imersão, compreensão e interpretação dos dados durante a fase de unitarização e categorização, permitindo construções teóricas e aprofundamento das indagações realizadas pelo pesquisador, que vão além do corpo de análise.
