“…Regarding the external markers, the fecal recovery of Cr 2 O 3 (92.5±6.6%) was higher, near 100%, result similar to the 86.1 obtained by Rodrigues et al (2010) in sheep also fed highconcentrate diets. Total fecal DM production can be estimated by the supply of Cr 2 O 3 once daily in the afternoon, associated with collection of two fecal samples (one in the morning and another in the afternoon), because there is no variation in the concentration of this marker in the feces of cattle in collections performed at different times (KOZLOSKI et al, 2006). This is in line with the results obtained in this study with sheep under similar conditions of administration of marker and fecal collection.…”

“…The external makers were administered orally, simultaneously to the 20 animals, using a PVC tube, always at 14h (before each meal) (KOZLOSKI et al, 2006) and for the entire collection period (five days). Cr 2 O 3 and TiO 2 were administered in a single dose of 4 g/animal/day, preceded by a period of acclimatization of seven days; LIPE ® was supplied at 250 mg/animal/day, with two days for adaptation.…”

“…The period for adaptation and collection of feces samples comprised 10 consecutive days. Cr 2 O 3 was provided orally, once a day (KOZLOSKI et al, 2006), in the morning to avoid thermal discomfort for the animals (7:30), together with a polyethylene external marker, with different colors for each animal to identify the feces. For ten consecutive days, animals were given 5g of Cr 2 O 3, and in the last three days the fecal samples were collected.…”
