Digital Story Conceptual Change Oriented (DSCC) to Reduce Students’ Misconceptions in Physics

The development of digital story conceptual change-oriented (DSCC) has been implemented to reduce the number of students' misconceptions. In this study, DSCC is reviewed based on the story aspect. This experimental design study used a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sampling in this study was taken by a purposive technique involving 114 students from two districts. The diagnostic instrument used was four tier-test and rubrics for assessing the story aspect of DSCC. In determining the decrease of the students' misconceptions, the researchers use the DQM formula. The analysis of DSCC's assessment result was done using a holistic method. The result of the study shows that there was a decrease in the number of students' misconceptions within the high category. The highest number of the student who decreases after the implementation of DSCC was 100% and that statement of misconception was: "every motionless object has no energy". On the other side, the result of the story aspect assessment shows that there was 20% of students gave negative comments for DSCC's sequence/chronology events and 10% of the state that the location/ plotting of places was inappropriate(out of character). It is recommended for further research to consider the learning model to optimize the minimalization of the number of students' misconceptions.

This research aimed to determine the effect of digital stories on 3rd grade students’ achievement, attitudes, and motivation in science lesson. For this purpose, explanatory sequential design, one of the mixed methods, was used in the research. The study group, composed of primary school 3rd grade students, was identified via convenience sampling method. The students in the experimental group watched the digital stories prepared by the researcher in the experimental process of the research. 10 cognitive learning outcomes related to the units "Our five senses", "Let's recognize the force" and "Let's know the matter" included the Primary School Third Grade Science Curriculum of Turkey were taken as the basis during the preparation of the digital stories used within the scope of the research. As a result of the quantitative data obtained from the research, it was concluded that experimental group students’ achievement, attitudes, and motivation were higher in the science lesson compared to control group students’ achievement, attitudes, and motivation. Based on the results of the qualitative data obtained from the research, it was determined that the students found digital stories entertaining, interesting and intriguing. In addition, it was concluded that digital stories facilitate students’ learning process and provide them with the opportunity to associate what is learned in the lesson with daily life. It is recommended to integrate digital stories into the current Science Curriculum in line with the results obtained from the research.

Rendahnya hasil belajar bahasa Indonesia dan kurangnya kemampuan menyimak siswa merupakan masalah dari penelitian ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Paired Story Telling terhadap Hasil Belajar Bahasa Indonesia Siswa Kelas V SD. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) dengan rancangan non-equivalent Post-test Only Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas Kelas V SD berjumlah 132 siswa dari lima Sekolah.Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik random sampling. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan media tes dengan instrumen tes hasil belajar berbentuk pilihan ganda berjumlah 40 soal. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis kuantitatif dengan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe paired story telling terhadap hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas V SD. Selain itu, kelompok siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe paired story telling berbantuan memiliki rata-rata skor hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia lebih tinggi dibandingkan model pembelajaran konvensional. Hal ini menunjukkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe paired story telling berpengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas V SD. Implikasi penelitian ini diharapkan dengan diterapkannya model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe paired story telling, dapat membantu siswa dalam belajar sehingga tujuan pembelajaran dapat tercapai.
