The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of screening results for early detection of toddler age development between denver developmental screening test (DDST) interventions with stimulation, detection and early developmental intervention (SDIDTK). The research design used in this study is to use an experimental Quasy design, pre-post test equivalent without control group design. The results of univariate analysis before DDST intervention were 3 (30%) of the children whose stages of development were abnormal and doubtful and only 4 (40%) of the children were normal developmental stages, after the intervention, which were mostly 7 (70%) children whose stages of development are normal. While the results before SDIDTK intervention were 2 (20%) children whose developmental stages were abnormal and 4 (40%) of those children whose stages of development were normal and doubtful, after the intervention the majority were 7 (70%) children normal developmental stage. The results of bivariate analysis showed that there was an increase in the score of developmental stages in the DDST group and in the SDIDTK group with each (t value = -3.096, p value = 0.013) and (t value = -2.703, p value = 0.024). Conclusions of the results of the study there was a significant influence between the scores of the developmental stages in the DDST group and in the SDIDTKI group before and with after the intervention. Objective: to describe the process of construction and validation of behavioral technology to follow child development milestones. Methods: methodological study, construction and validation of behavioral technology, in the form of reminders, through the Delphi Technique, with the participation of 10 judges specialized in the field of child health and in validation of technologies. In order to analyze the content validity of the reminders, the Content Validity Index was used, with agreement of at least 80.0% to guarantee the validation of the material. Results: most of the judges were nurses and had a doctorate degree. The items were validated, obtaining 90.0% approval by the expert judges. The overall agreement validation index was 0.87; thus, the technology was considered adequate. Conclusion: the construction and validation of the behavioral technology can favor professionals' adherence to the use of the Child Health Handbook to monitor child development. Objetivo: descrever o processo de construção e validação de tecnologia comportamental para acompanhamento dos marcos do desenvolvimento infantil. Métodos: estudo metodológico, de construção e validação de tecnologia comportamental, na forma de lembretes, por meio da Técnica Delphi, com participação de 10 juízes especialistas na área de saúde da criança e em processos de validação de tecnologias. Para analisar a validade de conteúdo dos lembretes, utilizou-se o Índice de Validade de Conteúdo, com concordância de no mínimo 80,0%, para garantir a validação do material. Resultados: a maioria dos juízes era enfermeiro e possuía titulação de doutor. Os itens foram validados, obtendo-se 90,0% de aprovação pelos juízes especialistas. O índice de validação de concordância global foi 0,87, sendo considerada adequada a tecnologia. Conclusão: a construção e validação da tecnologia comportamental podem favorecer a adesão de profissionais à utilização da Caderneta de Saúde da Criança para acompanhamento do desenvolvimento infantil. Objective: To describe Brazil’s historical background with regard to child development surveillance and perform a systematic review of studies published on surveillance records of child development within Child Health Handbooks. Data sources: A literature review was conducted in April of 2016 in the following electronic databases: Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), and the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (Medline). The search did not have any language or publication period restrictions, and included the bibliographic references of the selected articles. The keywords “child development and child health records,” and “child development and child health handbook” were applied. Articles were included that were original and that evaluated the use of child development surveillance tools in Brazil. Publications that were not original were excluded. The articles were selected first based on their title, then their abstracts, and finally a thorough reading. Data synthesis: The recommendation to support child development surveillance has been occurring since 1984. In 1995, developmental milestones were included in the Child’s Health Handbook, and in 2004 they became normative acts for surveillance, which should be carried out using this booklet. In the systematic review, six articles were selected in which the prevalence of child development surveillance recording ranged from 4.6 to 30.4%. This variation was due to different criteria and sample sizes as well as different methodologies employed to analyze the adequacy of filling out the handbook. Conclusions: Despite the fact that the Brazilian Ministry of Health formalized child development surveillance 32 years ago, the act of recording the surveillance in the Child Health Handbook is still deficient and irregular.
