The prime objective of the research was to determine how the apparel manufacturing sector is embracing digitization and its leaders are preparing for the digital age? so we wanted to find out what type of leadership style is needed for digital leadership. The present study used a sample of 50 RMG companies. We investigated relationships between three variables, Internet od Things, use of digitization-automation, use of smart phones and apps. Further, the variables’ influence on digitization has been assessed through multiple factors leading to digitization by allotment of weightage for each factor. The findings in this paper supports two variables; use of automized digital machines and internet of things being significant whereas, use of smartphones and apps is insignificant. It implies that preparation for leading in the digital age remains limited which require change oriented leadership behavior at all levels. Limitations of the paper include the data which is specific to Bangladesh RMG industry, therefore it cannot be generalized, further the economic meltdown due to COVID-19 pandemic might have influenced the results. The paper’s prime contribution is based on the assessment of predictor variables and their influence that it makes in providing leadership in the digital age which demand change oriented behavior of leaders.

Bu çalışmanın amacı; insan uygarlığının eriştiği bilimsel ve teknolojik birikimin bir sonucu olarak gündeme gelen ve son zamanlarda sıklıkla tartışılmaya başlanan Endüstri 4.0 (4. Sanayi Devrimi) kavramını irdelemek ve tekstil üretim süreçlerine yapacağı olası etkileri tartışarak farkındalık yaratmaktır. Bunun için ilk olarak Endüstri 4.0 kavramının tarihsel gelişimi, bileşenleri ve temel özellikleri üzerinde durulmuş, insan yaşamına ve üretim süreçlerine yapması beklenen etkiler değerlendirilmiştir. Ardından, tekstil üretim süreçlerinde Endüstri 4.0 açısından mevcut durum ortaya konulmuş, tekstil endüstrisinde gözlenen geleceğe dönük eğilimler tartışılmıştır. Sonuç olarak; Endüstri 4.0 kavramının, tüm diğer endüstri dallarında olduğu gibi tekstil sektöründe de tüm paydaşlarca dikkatle takip edilmesi, anlaşılması ve uyum çalışmalarına bir an önce başlanması gereken bir olgu olduğu kanısına varılmıştır.The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of Industry 4.0 (4th Industrial Revolution), which is a result of the scientific and technological accumulation of human civilization and which has been frequently discussed in recent years, and to raise awareness by discussing possible effects on the textile production processes. First of all, the historical development, components and basic characteristics of the Industry 4.0 concept are discussed and the expected effects on human life and production processes are evaluated. Then, the current situation in textile production processes is presented in terms of Industry 4.0, and the observed trends in the textile industry are discussed. As a result; it has come to the conclusion that the concept of Industry 4.0 is a fact that all stakeholders must be carefully followed, understood and immediately harmonized in the textile sector as it is in all the other industries.Anahtar kelimeler: Tekstil endüstrisi, Üretim süreci, Otomasyon, Endüstri 4.0

Dikiş makinelerine entegre edilecek sensörler aracılığı ile endüstri 4.0 sürecindeki nesnelerin interneti bileşenine uygun olarak üretim verilerinin, makine arızaları vs. tespit edilebilir (Jana, 2017: 232) ve çalışanlar aracılığı ile toplanacak veriler ile sağlıklı bir veri toplama altyapısının kurularak (Chen ve Xing, 2015: 3) gerekli analizler ışığında ihtiyaç duyulan bilgilerin elde edilebilmesi ve aynı zamanda endüstri 4.0 sürecindeki bileşenlerin kullanılabilmesi için gerekli girdiler sağlanabilir. Arttırılmış gerçeklik teknolojileri kullanılarak ürünlerin üretim aşamasında daha rahat işlenmesinin sağlanarak üretim zamanının kısaltılması, müşterinin üç boyutlu görüntüsünün bilgisayar ortamına aktarılarak istenilen kıyafetin gerekli ayarlamasının yapılıp sanki müşteri üzerinde giyilmiş gibi müşteriye sunulabilir (Kim ve Cheeyong, 2015).…”

Amaç -Emek yoğun hazır giyim sektöründe endüstri 4.0 süreci ile hızlanan dijitalleşme çabalarının nasıl geliştiğini ve uygulandığını açıklayarak diğer hazır giyim işletmelerine örnek olmaktır.Yöntem -Endüstri 4.0 sürecinin yeni bir kavram olmasından dolayı üzerinde çalışma yapılabilecek işletme sayısı azdır. Bu sebeple çalışmada seçilen işletme, amaçlı örnekleme metotlarından ölçüt durum örneklemesi tercih edilerek seçilmiştir. Ölçüt olarak endüstri 4.0 alanında çalışmalar yapmış veya yapıyor olmak kıstası belirlenmiştir.Bulgular -İşletme endüstri sürecinde çalışanlarında içerisine dahil olduğu ve adına "akıllı veri yönetimi" dedikleri bir bilgi yönetim sistemi kurdukları görülmüştür. Bu bilgi yönetim sistemi kapsamında çalışanlardan ve makinelerden toplanan verilerle operatörlerin performansları, kapasite bilgileri, makinelerin arıza durumları, makinelerin sıcaklık ve titreşim bilgileri, makinelerin kullanılabilirlik durumları, hangi ürünün nerede olduğu bilgisi vs. ortaya çıkarılmaktadır. Aynı zamanda işletmenin aldığı işlerin çalışanların kabileyetlerine göre sınıflandırılarak hangi çalışana hangi işin verilmesinin tespiti kolayca yapılabilmektedir.Tartışma --Endüstri 4.0 sürecinde yaşanan değişimler işletmeleri veriye ve bilgiye dayalı bir üretim modeline götürmektedir. Bu modelin temelinde çalışanların da bulunduğu bir bilgi yönetim sistemi vardır. Bu modelin yardımcı elemanları da endüstri 4.0 sürecinde kullanılan teknolojilerdir.
