University-Industry Cooperation Network in Academic and Technological Productivity

Abstract: Knowing the gear of the triple-helix is fundamental to analyze the impact of public policies in the scenario of a country, especially when the variables linked to innovation refer to the chronological production of the facts. In this perspective, an analysis was assembled from intentional samples per regions of Brazil linked to the engineering areas, identifying indices that could demonstrate this evolutionary line, highlighting mainly in their numbers, the quantitative of patents of engineering deposited with… Show more

“…When planning future research of an international nature, it is possible to take into account a larger number of aspects of cooperation between companies and universities. It is also worth considering the holistic approach including the role of government and the third sector, the quadruple helix model (Riberio and Nagano, 2018;Tatum et. al., 2018).…”

“…Investigating research collaborations helps enhance the understanding of research resources and information, such as collaborations among countries and institutions [7] . Network analysis has been utilized in various fields, such as engineering [47] , university-industry linkages [48] , and tourism [7] . Most studies identifying scientific collaboration have been quantitative projects focused on publications and knowledge sharing, and qualitative indicators have been only rarely applied to such network mapping efforts.…”

“…the role of mentoring during student internships [25]. The role of government in shaping relations is often emphasized, including on the basis of the triple-helix partnerships and the quadruple helix partnership models [22,29,32,34,. The research is conducted using quantitative [3,20], as well as qualitative methods [3,19,20,23,29].…”

“…The research is conducted using quantitative [3,20], as well as qualitative methods [3,19,20,23,29]. University-business cooperation could be defined as "a model of inter-institutional arrangement between organizations of a fundamentally distinct nature, which may have different purposes and adopt huge different formats" [34]. Kesting, Gerstlberger and Baaken [14] noticed that university-business cooperation means that it "is in fact the individual researcher who cooperates with businesses and decides for or against engagement".…”
