Nesse âmbito, tudo parece indicar que as GJ facilitam o desenvolvimento de competências científicas e técnicas nas áreas das tecnologias, ciências e artes (STEAM) (FOWLER et al, 2016), e competências específicas de desenvolvimento de jogos, como desenhar um jogo do início ao fim, aprender o desenvolvimento de um jogo e um software ou programa de design de jogos (FOWLER et al, 2016;GUEVARA-VILLALOBOS, 2011).
