UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIOBESITAS DARI EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN MALAKA (Phyllanthus emblica L.) TERHADAP TIKUS PUTIH JANTAN GALUR Wistar

Abstract

Obesitas merupakan penimbunan lemak yang berlebihan di dalam tubuh yang disebabkan oleh asupan jumlah makanan yang lebih besar dari pada yang dapat digunakan untuk energi. Daun Malaka (Phyllanthus emblica L.) merupakan salah satu tanaman berkhasiat obat yang belum banyak diketahui masyarakat digunakan sebagai obat obesitas. Daun malaka mengandung senyawa tanin, flavonoid dan saponin yang mampu menghambat kerja enzim lipase pankreas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak etanol daun malaka sebagai antiobesitas pada tikus putih jantan galur Wistar yang diinduksi pakan tinggi karbohidrat dan lemak. Daun malaka diekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi. Pengujian dilakukan dengan membagi 5 kelompok perlakuan yang terdiri dari 5 ekor tikus. Kelompok perlakuan terbagi menjadi kontrol negatif, kontrol positif (Orlistat) dan kelompok dosis ekstrak. Kelompok uji yang diberi ekstrak daun malaka secara oral dengan dosis berbeda (250, 500, dan 750 mg/kg BB), kemudian dilanjut dengan pengukuran kadar kolesterol darah untuk masing-masing kelompok. Data diuji secara statistik menggunakan one way ANOVA dengan tingkat kepercayaan < 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dosis 750 mg/kg BB memiliki aktivitas lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kelompok uji lainnya dan tidak ada korelasi antara penurunan obesitas dengan penurunan kadar kolesterol darah.
