UI/UX Design Web-Based Learning Application Using Design Thinking Method

Abstract: Humans are basically inseparable from education in carrying out life. The implementation and development of educational studies must also be adapted to the conditions and social situations that exist in the community. The main focus of Goal 4 on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is to provide inclusive quality education or to ensure everyone has an equal opportunity to get good quality of education. “…In the same way, authors in [8][9][10] investigated the effect of the sequence of UI elements and type of forms, the impact of the need for uniqueness, self-identification, and perceived performance risk on mobile application usage behaviour. Authors in [11], proposed a prototype of the UI/UX design for "IdeIn," a web-based learning tool that strives to give equal access to quality education for all students, but it had limited context, interest, and scope. According to [12], the authors analysed the effect of social media content on the engagement behaviour of the user.…”

“…The design thinking method is an iterative process with several stages to identify and understand users, user problems, and solutions that allow the author to define the problem from a certain point of view. So that later the design thinking method will enable authors to generate as many ideas as possible and develop innovative solutions by democratizing the design through hypothesis testing and prototypes [11]. In other industries, procedures are similar to industry guidelines or standards; without them, there would be no clear guidelines to follow during design development [9].…”

“…IBM Design Thinking Software Development Framework has also carried out similar research. The research explained that the Design Thinking approach method had been applied to produce better designs [23], [24]. It is an effective solution to problems that arise in Software Development, especially in the Agile Software Development (ASD) approach method, in which ASD methods are still traditional (waterfall methods), and the success rate is still low.…”
