“…We consider it likely in our case that bowenoid malignant transformation occurred in the interadnexal and the adnexal epithelium because of actinic damage, and developed a trichilemmal carcinoma. Most of the reported cases of trichilemmal carcinoma (2)(3)(4)(5)(6)(7)(8)(9)(10)(11)(12)(13)(14)(15)(16)(17)(18)(19)(20) showed lobular proliferation, V-shaped or centered on the pilar apparatus, in the superficial or marginal part of the lesion. When the tumor cells tend to keratinization (trichilemmal keratinization) while invading deeper into the dermis, the histological structure mimics that of a proliferating trichilemmal cyst (6,15).…”
