This essay offers a pluralized conception of local rhetorics. The local has traditionally been conceived as the backdrop or flat surface where rhetoric/discourse is situated, or at best as a contextual dimension of rhetorical situations. The history of usage of this term – evoking a fix and inert connotation that often indicates a bounded locality or site – has contributed to its neglect as a tool for rhetorical theory, while its actual use in rhetorical praxis has proliferated in conjunction to the turn to field and site-based methodologies and practices. By drawing on fieldwork about the rhetoricity of a post-disaster locality to ground my theoretical reflections, here I offer a conceptualization of local rhetorics via multiple ontologies and ecological theories. Finally, throughout the essay, I suggest a rhetorical-topographic approach as a methodological orientation to integrate existing theoretical and methodological pathways for exploring the multiple rhetoricity of the local.

Bahasa Indonesia beberapa tahun terakhir ini makin banyak dipelajari oleh berbagai negara. Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) memerlukan multimedia untuk menunjang unsur gestur pada materi deiksis. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan keragaman fungsi gestur pada tuturan deiksis dalam Film 3 Srikandi. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan purposive sampling dengan data penelitian melputi unsur verbal dan nonverbal. Data verbal berupa deiksis, sedangkan unsur nonverbal berupa berbagai gestur yang hadir saat tokoh mengucapkan deiksis. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik simak dan catat. Sementara itu, data diolah dengan menggunakan analisis isi dengan pendekatan multimodal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tuturan deiksis yang disampaikan para tokoh dapat menampilkan beberapa gestur sehingga fungsi gestur pun beragam. Penggunaan multimedia Film <em>3 Srikandi</em> membantu proses pembelajaran deiksis dengan adanya unsur nonverbal yang melekat pada dialog tokoh. Pengajar BIPA dapat menggunakan film sebagai media pembelajaran yang membantu untuk menjelaskan materi deiksis. Selain itu, multimedia dapat menstimulus mahasiswa dalam berkomunikasi serta memperbanyak kosakata baru yang diperoleh di kelas bahasa.

This study attempted to describe the various deixis contained in traditional wedding ceremony ”mangambat boru”of Mandailing. The problems in this study are: 1) what types of deixis are there in traditional wedding ceremony”mangambat boru”of Mandailing ; 2) what is the functions of the deixis uses in traditional wedding ceremony”mangambat boru”of Mandailing. The purposes are going to be achieved by this study are such as: 1) to describe the various types of deixis, 2) to describe the function of the deixis were used.The subject of this researchwas thetraditional wedding ceremony”mangambat boru”of Mandailingwhich consist six wedding in Panyabungan. The data in this study are: words, phrases, sentences, using Mandailing Language.Furthermore, there are four kinds of deixis used in traditional wedding ceremony”mangambat boru”of Mandailing, which consists of deixis place, deixis time,deixis demonstratif, and deixis persona. Based on this research then the number of data were 180words deixis, the most frequently used was person deixis with 120 words. On theorder of second was demonstratif deixis with 30 words .
