Topical use of dexpanthenol: a 70th anniversary article

Abstract: Approximately 70 years ago, the first topical dexpanthenol-containing formulation (Bepanthen TM Ointment) has been developed. Nowadays, various topical dexpanthenol preparations exist, tailored according to individual requirements.
