TLR2 Signaling Pathway in Alveolar Bone Osteogenesis Induced by Aloe vera and Xenograft (XCB)

Abstract: The aim of this study was to find the role of TLR2 signaling pathway in reducing osteoclast activity and promoting osteoblast growth by inducing a combination of Aloe vera and cancellous bovine xenograft (XCB) into dental extraction socket. Forty-eight Cavia cobayas were used. They were divided into eight groups (n=6). For control group, their mandibular incisors were extracted and filled with PEG. For treatment groups, they were extracted and filled with XCB, Aloe vera and the combination of Aloe vera and XCB… Show more

“…24 Similarly, research conducted by Kresnoadi et al also revealed that the number of osteoblasts on day 30 increase significantly compared to the previous day. 25 In conclusion, the post-extraction preservation of sockets using a combination of Moringa oleifera leaf extract and DFBBX may increase the activity of alveolar bone formation as indicated by an increase in type 1 collagen expressions. The selection of materials used in the preservation of tooth extraction sockets, nevertheless, plays an important role in the process of bone formation.…”

“…The C. cobaya were first anesthetized intramuscularly using 0.2 cc ketamine (20 mg/300 mg). [ 16 ] Each participant's left mandibular incisor was then cleared of food scraps with a water spray and dried before being extracted. In the next stage, approximately 0.1 ml of a combination of Moringa leaf extract, DFDBBX (Bonegraft 10 mesh/2000 μ, Batan) and PEG was introduced into the sockets by syringe.…”

“…The anthraquinone glycoside content called emodin in Aloe vera extract suppresses bone resorption activity from osteoclasts by inhibiting RANKL [9]. It has been demonstrated that there was an increase in the number of osteoclasts in the untreated extraction group and in the group with filling mixture Aloe vera there was a significant decrease in the number of osteoclasts in the group 14 days after extraction and group 30 days and the most decrease in the group 60 days after extraction [6].…”

“…Anthraquinone has several beneficial properties such as anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-microbial effects, and anesthetics, and laxative effects. It is also known that aloe-emodin can improve tissue healing and healing processes and minimizes pain [6].…”
