Tissue miR-193b as a Novel Biomarker for Patients with Ovarian Cancer

Abstract: BackgroundMiRNAs play important roles in regulating many fundamental biological processes. Deregulation of miRNAs is involved in the initiation and progression of cancer. MiR-193b is regarded as tumor suppressor in many types of cancers. However, the role of miR-193b in ovarian cancer is poorly understood.Material/MethodsThe expression level of miR-193b in ovarian cancer cell lines and ovarian cancer samples was evaluated using quantitative real-time reverse transcription-PCR (qRT-PCR). The ovarian cancer pati… Show more

“…The primers were synthesized by the Sangon Biotech Company (Shanghai, China, http://www.sangon.com/). PCR assay was performed as previously described, with miR-155-5p expression normalized to U6 snRNA expression (14,(21)(22)(23)(24). The primers were: miR-155-5p, forward, 5'-UAA UAC CGU CUU AAA ACC GU-3', and reverse, 5'-UUC UGG GAA CGU GAA ACC T-3'; and U6 snRNA, forward, 5'-CGC TTC GGC AGC ACA TAT ACT AAA ATT GGA AC-3', and reverse, 5'-GCT TCA CGA ATT TGC GTG TCA TCC TTG C-3'.…”

“…. Collectively, these pieces of evidence clearly suggest a potential role of miR-193a as a proliferation-, invasion-, and metastasis-preventing miRNA in various cancers.Several studies have been emphasized the suppression function of miR-193b in different tumors and tumor cell lines such as breast cancer, glioma, prostate cancer (PC), pancreatic cancer, melanoma, ovarian cancer, and HCCJin et al, 2015;H.
